Competences: - By the end of the unit, ss can identify parts of the body, physical descriptions of people, identify and describe facial features. 3. Skills: Speaking - Identify parts of the body - Describe people's appearance Listening Listen to monologues / dialogues within 50 words for general information Reading Read dialogues and passages within 80 words for general information Writing Write sentences or a paragraph within 50 words with idea /word or picture cues 4. Grammar:- Simple present - Wh-questions: What color? 5. Vocabulary: - Words describing parts of the body: head, leg, ... - Colors: gray, red, orange, … - Words describing people’s appearance and II.Unit plan: Lesson 1 A 1 - 2 Get nouns to talk about parts of the body Lesson 2 A 3 – 5a Adjectives to describe physical appearance Lesson 3 B 1 Face vocabulary ( nouns and adjectives ) to describe faces Lesson 4 B 2 - 3 Adjectives of color to describe features Lesson 5 B 4 - 5 Further practice in body vocabulary to describe people Date of preparing: 6/1/2021 Period 55th UNIT 9 : THE BODY LESSON 1: A1-2 A.Objectives: 1. Aims : By the end of the lesson , ss will be able to get nouns to talk about parts of the body. 2. Practice skill: - Practice listening skill,writing, speaking skill. reading skill 3. The knowledge needs to get:. + Standard knowledge: What is that? - That's his head. - What are those? – Those are his shoulders. + Advanced knowledge: 4. Basic language: * Vocabulary: head, shoulder, arm, chest, hand, finger, leg, foot, toe. - Singular, plural: a shoulder - 2 shoulders, a foot - 2 feet * LF: - What is that? - That's his head. - What are those? – Those are his shoulders. 5. Attitude: Help ss to have good consciousness in order to get nouns to talk about parts of the body. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: chatting, R & R, Simon says, picture drill, D. Procedure : I. Organization: (1’) - Greeting Class Date of teaching absent students 6A 12/1 6B 11/1 6C 13/1 Teacher ,s activities Students' activities II : warm up (3m) chatting How are you today? Who’s absent today? How do you go to school everyday? Where do you live? Etc..... III. New lesson 1. Presentation: (10’) * pre teach vocab: ss: choral, individually - head ( n) :đầu - chest ( n): ngực - shoulders (n):vai - arms (n) :cánh tay - hands (n):bàn tay - legs (n):cẳng chân - feet / foot (n): bàn chân - fingers (n):ngón tay - toes (n):ngón chân (thigh / /: đùi, hip: hông, knee: ) * Checking vocab : R-O-R - Ask them to close their books - Rub out the new words one at a time. Each time you rub out a word in English, point to the vietnamese translation and ask “what is this in English?”. Objectives: 1.Aims : By the end of the lesson , ss will be able to get Adjectives to describe physical appearance 2. Practice skill: - Practice listening skill,writing, speaking skill. reading skill 3. The knowledge needs to get:. + Standard knowledge: She is short. ( S + be + Adj/ N) + Advanced knowledge: Descrbing the people 4. Basic language: * Vocab: tall>< strong * LF: She is short. ( S + be + Adj/ N) 5. Attitude: Help ss to have good consciousness in order to get Adjectives to describe physical appearance B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Hangman, R & R, Noughts and crosses, Prediction D. Each stroke stands for a letter of the word - Ss take turn to guess the letters of the word - If a student,s guess is not right, the teacher draws a stroke ( according to the oder in the picture ) - If ss guess wrong eight times, they lose. She is fat…… Checking vocab : R-O-R - Get ss to copy the words into their books and then ss copy, then close ask them to close the books - rub out the new words one at a time. Objectives: 1.Aims : By the end of the lesson , ss will be able to get Face vocabulary ( nouns and adjectives ) to describe faces 2. Practice skill: - Practice listening skill,writing, speaking skill. reading skill 3. The knowledge needs to get:. + Standard knowledge: - Describe: She has an oval face. + Advanced knowledge: listen and draw about faces. 4. Basic language: * Vocab:eyes, ears, lips, nose, mounth, teeth, hair, round, oval, full, thin, long, short. * LF: - Describe: She has an oval face. 5. Attitude: Help ss to have good consciousness in order to get Face vocabulary ( nouns and adjectives ) to describe faces B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Pelmanism, matching, W & W, Wordsquare, listen and draw. D. Procedure : I: Organization : - Greeting - Number students Class Date of teaching Absent student 6A 14/1 6B 16/1 6C 16/1 Teacher’s activities Ss’ activities II : warm up ( 7m) Pelmanism - Prepare 10 cards with numbers on one side and the ss work in two groups adjectives on the others - Make sure the adjectives are antonymous - Stick the cards on the board so students can only see the numbers. Devide students into two teams ans ask them to choose two numbers. Turn the cards over and see if they match. If not, turn the cards over again and ask the next team. - Continue until all the cards are turned over fat thin tall short heavy light noisy quiet big small III : New lesson : 1. Presentation : * pre teach vocab : - eyes (n ) : mắt hair (n ): túc ss : choral / individual - ears (n ): tai nose (n ): mũi repetition - lips (n ) : mụi mouth (n ) : miệng write down - teeth (n ): răng Checking vocab: what and where - Have ss repeat the words in chorus then rub out word by word but leave the circles. Remember to let ss repeat before and after rubbing out each word. Ss listen and repeat - Go on until ss can remember the words - Get ss to write the words again in the correct circles ss play in two groups * Match : - T draw a big face on the board - Ask ss to re- label the pictures ss label one by one 2.
