Unit 13 - Festivals Lesson 6: Language focus 3,4 A.Objectives: 1. Aims: - Help ss practice all structure grammar and do exercises of unit 13. - By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to practice in using reported speech, compound words B. Teaching aids : Text book, pictures , poster. 2. Practice skill: - Practice reading, writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge to practice in using reported speech, compound words to rewrite the sentences. + Advanced knowledge: using reported speech, compound words to make sentences well. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to to practice in using reported speech, compound words. B. Teaching- aids: Textbook, pictures, posters, Cd, computer. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: R & R, transformation. D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 8A II. Checking up + warm up (5’): - Ask ss to change these sentences into passive voice: 1- She will buy a new bike. 2- They clean the floor everyday. * Key: 1. A new bike will be bought by her. 2. The floor is cleaned by them everyday. * Form of checking: speaking and writing. * T corrects and gives them marks. III. New lesson: Teacher’s activities Ss’activities Step 1. Tenses: Direct speech Indirect-reported speech present simple will / must / can past simple would / had to / could 2.Pronouns: Depend on the Subject of the main clause 3. Advs of time: This  that / now  then / here  there today  that day / tomorrow  the next day Yesterday  the day before / ago  before Step 2. Practice: * LF 4 : P.130 : Transformation drill b. Production: -T asks Ss to use compound word and reported speech to make sentences. IV.Summary: - Retell the main points of this lesson: What have you learnt? V. Aims: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to know some famous world landmarks and practice in reading to seek information about a language game to complete a summary. B. Teaching aids : Text book, pictures , poster. 2. Practice skill: - Practice reading, writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge to know some famous world landmarks and practice in reading to seek information about a language game to complete a summary. + Advanced knowledge: Guess and tell about the wonders of the world. 4. How does this game work? The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge to make a report on famous places using reported speech and recognize mistakes through listening to an advertisement + Advanced knowledge: Ask and answer about another famous places well.. 4.
