Knowledges + The aims: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will know how to write personal letters + Vocabulary: Vocabulary of places. + Grammar: - The tense: simple present tense, past simple tense , present perfect and simple future tense. Write activities, interesting places which ss know or are on holiday. 2. Skills : Listening, writing skills and grammar 3. Attitude: Help ss to have good consciousness in order to write personal letters B. Preparations 1.Teacher : posters, computer 2. Students: Unit 1 Write C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, group work - Techniques; pre-questions, correction D. Procedure: I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 9A 20/9 9B 20/9 II.Warm up:( 4 minutes) Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Ask ss to complete these sentences about Malaysia. - Malaysia/ a member country of ASEAN. - There/2 regions/West and East. - The area/ 329,758 sqkm - The climate/tropical. - The Malaysian unit of currency/ the ringgit -The capital/Kuala Lumpur Islam/thecountry’s official religion -The national language/Bahasa Malaysia. - English/ a compulsory second language. - Give feedback. Work individually Malaysia is a member country of ASEAN. There are 2 regions :West and East. The area is 329,758 sqkm The climate is tropical. The Malaysian unit of currencyis the ringgit The capital is Kuala Lumpur Islam is thecountry’s official religion The national language is Bahasa Malaysia. English is a compulsory second language. III.New lesson: Teacher’s activities Students’activities 1. Pre- writing ( 9 minutes) Pre-questions; - Set the scene: Imagine you are visiting your relatives or friends in another part of Viet Nam or in a different country. - Hang a poster on the board with questions - Run through the questions 1. Where are you now? How did you get there? 2. Who did you meet? 3.What have you done? 4. What places have you visited? 5.What kinds of food have you tried? 6.What souvenirs have you bought? 7. How do you feel now? 8. What do you think interest you most? 9. When are you returning home? - Give instructions: Now you have to answer these questions. -What are you going to do now? - Ask ss to answer the questions in pairs, - Give feedback: Ask ss to give their ideas. 2. While- writing ( 16 minutes) - Ask ss to write a letter to their family, telling them about their visit, use the out line in the book. - Give feedback: ask ss to give their ideas 3. Post- writing ( 13 minutes) * Correction: Choose two letters from 2 groups to correct in class -Listen - T whole class - Listen -Remind the teacher’s instructions. - Answer the questions in pairs 1. I am in Ha Noi/…I got there by bus/ taxi… 2.I met my best friend, Lan./… 3. I took / have taken some photos, gone swimming/… 4.I have visited Uncle Ho Mausoleum, Lenin Park, the zoo, the theater/… 5.I have tried chicken, fish and salads/… 6.I bought some English books, toys and clothes/… 7.I feel tired but very happy and relaxed 8. I think going swimming in a beautiful swimming pool interests me most/… 9.I am returning home by taxi/ … - work in groups of two e.g: Dear my parents, I am in Ha Noi now. I arrived here at 11.30 late in the morning on last Saturday. Lan met me at the bus –station. She took me home by motorbike. I have visited many interesting places such as Uncle Ho Mausoleum, the zoo, the theater, the water park, the museum and the lakes. I have tried chicken, fish , salads and Hanoi speciality.I bought some books, toys and clothes.I feel tired but very happy and relaxed. The people here are so friendly and nice. The food is delicious and the sights are so beautiful. I think going swimming in a beautiful swimming pool interests me most.I am returning home at 5pm next Thursday. Practice (8’) -Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer qts about what Ba, Nga, Lan, Nam nad Hoa did on the weekend. Exercise 2:P 12 Set the scene: Lan and her friends are holding a farewell party for Maryam. Write the things they did to prepare for the party”. - Run through the exercise - Ask ss to use the words and the pictures to make sentences - Ask ss to compare with partners and give feedback.
