Aims: - Know some kinds of rooms in a house and the names of the furniture. - By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know kinds of rooms in a house and the names of the furniture. 2. Practice skill: - Practice comprehension reading, speaking and writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Know the names of the furniture, Answer the questions about the house Hoa is living (a-d) and talk about their own house (e,f). + Advanced knowledge: Describe Hoa's house before class, Write about their house. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: awful (a), lovely (a), bright (a), convenient (a), amazing (a), sink (n), tub (n), washing machine, dryer (n), refrigerator (n), dish washer (n), electric stove (n) - Structure: There is / are……… 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice speaking, writing about kinds of rooms in the house and names of the furniture. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Shark attack, Networks, Comprehension questions, True / False Repetition Drill, Deliberate Mistake. D. WARM UP (5 minutes) Shark attack: - Cut out a shark and a school boy and girl on card - Draw some steps on the boar and the sea around the step - Stick the boy / girl on top of the steps, and the shark in the sea - Draw 10 gaps for the word TELEVISION - Get ss in teams ( or ask them as a whole class ) to guess the letter in each gap. If their guess is right. They get one mark. If their guess is wrong, the boy/ girl has to step donn - The game can continue with some more words . TABLE . PICTURE . CHAIR . KITCHEN . STOVE III. NEW LESSON Step 1 : Pre reading (12ms) *Aim: -SS can understand and pronounce the new words about some kinds of rooms in a house and the names of the furniture. - T introduce the content of the lesson, SS guess T/F statements. *Methods: Networks, T/F. Group work, Individual * Time: 12’ * Procedure 1. Vocabulary : ( picture ) ( a room where we can cook meals ) ( picture ) (picture ) ( a machine used for washing dishes ) ( picture ) ( a room with a tub on it ) Sts : * Check vocabulary : Networks 2. T/ F statements - Set the scene : Lan comes to Hoa's house for a visit. What are they talking to each other? Look at The statements and guess 1/ It’s a beautiful day 2/ Hoa’s Aunt is shopping 3/Hoa’s room is pink and blue 4/The bathroom is modern 5/The kitchen is not convenient - Let sts run through the statements - SS have one minute to guess - SS compare with each other - T gets ss’ predictions. II. While reading(15ms) * Aims: SS can read and understand the text about the rooms. *Methods: T/F, Qts & As. Close pairs * Time: 15’ * Procedure 1. Practice skill: - practice comprehension speaking and writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Give compliments and make complaint using the structure “What + a/ an + adj + noun” + Advanced knowledge: Practice freely with pictures to give compliments and make complaints. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: wet (a), delicious (a), expensive (a), closet (n) - Structure: What an expensive dress! 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice giving compliments and making complaint using the structure “ What + a/ an + adj + noun”. B. Presentation Dialogue - Ask ss to read the dialougue A1 P 29-30 to find out the exclamation sentences * Concept check + Meaning: How do you undrestand these sentences? + Form : - Are they questions or exclamation ones? ( exclamation sentences ) - Can you find the nouns in the two sentences? (day, bathroom) - what stand in front of the nouns ? (adjectives) - Are the nouns singular or plural ? (singular countable nouns) - If the nouns are plural or uncountable, can we use a or an? Step 3 : Further Practice (7ms) * Aims: SS can make compliments and complaints. *Methods: Noughts and crosses Group work. * Time: 7’ * Procedure Noughts and crosses - Divide the class in to two teams - Draw a nine square grid on the board - The team will take turn to choose the number and give compliments or complaints using the words in the square. Practice skill: - practice comprehension reading, speaking and writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: ask and answer about jbs of the members of Lan' s and Hoa's family. + Advanced knowledge: Practice talking about the jobs of their own parents. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: farm (n),journalist (n), newspaper (n), sick (a), primary school (n), to raise cattle (v), to take care of - Structure: What do you do? What is your job? (I’m a farmer. I grow vegestables and raise cattle.) What does she do? (She is a nurse. She takes care of sick children.) Where do you/ does she work? ( I work on the farm/ She works in a hospital.) 5.
