Mô tả: Date of preparing: 23/10/2020 Period 22 UNIT 4: AT SCHOOL LESSON 5 : B2-4 A.The aims of the lesson 1.Knowledge -The aims: - Review the words of the school library - Read and understand about the biggest library in the world. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe the position of books in the library using prepositions of position and know more about the biggest library in the world - Vocabulary: librarian’s desk, study area, together, center, to receive, copy, to contain, employees, Congress. - Structure: Wh- questions in the present simple one of, in the center of, copies of, to keep...together + Standard knowledge: - Review the words of the school library through the listening text - Tell about the library in B4 through 5 answers (a-e) + Advanced knowledge: Learn B4 by heart. 2. Skill: - Listening skills about the books and position of the books in the school library. - Reading comprehension skills about a famous library. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice reading for details. B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 7-book, computer, projectors 2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary, English 7-book, C. Techniques: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Pre Questions, Comprehension Questions D. Study area English Geography, History Librarian’s desk Science , Math Newspapers, Magazines - Have ss to guess and label the cards in the numbers on the map - Let them work in group - Give feedback - Get ss to listen to the tape and chech their prediction - Give feed back III. NEW LESSON Step 1 : Pre Reading (10ms): 1. Vocabulary : ( mime ) ( translation ) ( picture ) ( picture ) ( translation) ( translation) Check voc: R.O.R 2. Pre Questions - Set the scence: You are going to read about one of the biggest libraries in the world. Guess and answer the questions about it. a. Is the library in the USA ? b. Does it contain 100 books ? Step 2 : While Reading (15ms): Activity 1 : Reading and Checking - Have ss read the text on page 49 to check their prediction. - T gives feedback Activity 2: Comprehension Questions - Ask ss to read the text again to find out the answers - SS work in pairs. - Give feedback. Step 3: Post Reading(8ms): B2 (P48) : - Ask sts to listen then practise the dialogue with their parners. - Ask sts to make a similar dialogue about the library plan in B1. - Ask 2 pairs to say out their dialogues before the class and correct any mistakes. Skill: - practice writing and speaking skill . 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to do some exercies. B. Preparations 1. Warm up(5’) Guessing the occupations - Give the definition and ask ss to find out the words( occupations ) as quickly as they can. - Give one mark for the student who finds out the word fastest. 1. A person who fights fires. He is very brave. ( fire man ) 2. A person who lives in the countryside and he grows vegetables. ( farmer ) 3. A person who teaches students in the school. ( teacher ) 4. ( journalist ) III-New lesson Activity 1: Kim’s game - Ask ss to look at the pictures on page 39 , try to remember the positions of the cat and then write sentences - SS have 30 seconds to look at the pictures. - SS work in pairs to write sentences in 3 minutes. - Divide the class into two teams. Each member of each team goes to the board to write sentences. - The winner is the one that has more correct sentences. Activity 2: Writing - SS work individual to complete the passages. - SS compare with eachother. - T gets students’ answers. - T gives feed back. Activity 3: Nought and crosses - Ask ss to loook at Nam’ s diary about tomorrow. - Write the things Nam will do and the things he won’t do. - Divide the class in to two teams, using the cue words to make sentences. 1. III-New lesson(35’): Teacher & students’ activities Contents * Warm up Bingo - Ask ss to write down on their notebooks five ordinal numbers ( from 1- 20 ) - T prepares a list of ordinal numbers - T calls out each number in a loud voice - SS listen to the teacher carefully, if anyone has the same numbers , they cross them out. The first person crossing out all five numbers shouts ‘ Bingo’ and wins the game. Activitive 1 : Language Focus 3 - Get ss to write the correct ordinal numbers from the table on page 38 - SS write individually. - Ss compare with their partners. - T gives feed back. Activitive 2 : Language Focus 5 Picture drill - Ask ss to look at Language forcus 5 on page 39-40 - Get ss to work in group of three to make comparatives and superlatives - Give feedback Activity 3 : Language Focus 7 - Ask ss to run through the picture - Ask ss the qestion: What are there in the picture? - SS answer orally - Ask ss to complete the sentences - T gives feed back 1.
