OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to write a passage entitled “A Country Picnic”. -Vocabulary: Words to describe the country/ a trip to the country: location, direction, outing activities - Language focus: Past simple 2. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: Positive about a trip to the countryside. Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II./.PREPARATION: 1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector 2.Students: books, notebooks III./.PROCEDURE Students and teacher’s activities Contents ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Active words and structures c. Outcome: Ss’ understanding, ability of using the words and structures d. Organization: Warm - up: Students and teacher’s activities: play games, sing songs, go fishimg, go boating, go swimming….. 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - T gives out verbs inf -Ss go to the board and write the verbs in the past 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen, understand the tasks to write a passage to retell a picnic to the countryside, using the words given b. Content: writing c. Outcome: students’ writing d. Organization: Work in individual to write a passage to retell a picnic to the countryside, using the words given. Begin with: It was a beautifull day …. Check and correct mistakes. 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: students’s talks d. Organization: Ss talk about their own picnic Homework - Prepare Language focus Brainstorm: A country picnic - What to prepare: food, drink, blanket, clothes, umbrella, hat, shoes, tent… * Change the verbs into the past Go- went, play- played, lay- laid, take- took, walk-walked, run- ran, catch- caught, be- was/were It was a beautiful day, my friends and I decided to go on a picnic. We took a bus to the countryside and then walked about 20 minutes to the picnic site next to the river. We put down the blanket and laid out the food. After meal we played the games “ What song is it ?” and “blind man’s buff. Late in the afternoon, we went fishing. We enjoyed our picnic. When we looked at the time, it was nearly 6.30 pm. We hurriedly gathered our things and ran to the bus stop. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use conditional sentences type 2, adverb clauses of result and use “could “ with “wish” to talk and do exercises well 2. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: Positive about a trip to the countryside. Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II./.PREPARATION: 1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector 2.Students: books, notebooks III./.PROCEDURE T’s and Ss’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Active words and structures c. Outcome: Ss’ understanding, ability of using the words and structures d. Organization: - T reviews some verbs in past form by asking Ss to play “ Pelmanism” 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - T explains the structure. Ex: Ba can’t have a new bicycle = Ba wishes he could have a new bicycle. Ex : I/ can get/ good marks = I wish I could get good marks. - T asks Ss to look at the pictures in book and suggestions. Discuss what these people wish, and complete the wishes. - T uses picture a) to make model sentence. - Ss work in group ( every group is one sentence ). Then Ss give the key on the board. 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen, understand the tasks b. Content: - answer the questions in the questionaire. c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly d. Organization: - T corrects and gives the right answer. - Ss take note. - T says “ Look at Mr Thanh’s itinerary for his business trip to Singapore. Base on the information in the itinerary, you complete the sentences by using the prepositions in the box” - Ss work in close pairs. - Ss give the answer on the board - T corrects - Ss take note. - T says “ Now you revise the use of some prepositions of time by doing exercise 3” - Ss play “ Lucky numbers” - T corrects. - Ss take note - T explains new structure Ex : Hoa worked hard,…………….. she passed her exam. ( because, so) = Hoa worked hard, so she passed her exam. 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Match the half- sentences. Then write the full sentences in your exercise book. c. Outcome: students’s talks Organization: - T says “ Now you work in group, match the half- sentences in A with the ones in B, using “so” - Ss work in group and give the answer on the board. - T corrects. - Ss take note. Complete the sentences. Use the propositions in the box.
