Knowledge - use the superlative adjectives in listening/speaking skill; - enlarge their vocabulary relating to the topic – Cities around the world; - get someone’s attention into a conversation and practice listening skill by deciding the statement is True/False; 2. Ability - improve the four-English skills (main skills: Listening and Speaking; sub-skills: Reading and Writing); - develop communication, collaboration, self-study, and problem-solving skills; - compare the cities in the world; 3. Quality - have positive attitude in learning and actively participate in all classroom activities related to the topic - Cities around the World. II. TEACHING AIDS AND LEARNING MATERIALS. Lesson plan, PPT slides, Student’s book, workbook, notebook, personal computer (if any), projector/ TV, speakers, DCR & DHA on Eduhome, CD player, handouts… III. Warm up: (5’) a) Objectives: To review and introduce the new lesson; To develop Ss’ collaboration and communication. b) Content: introducing more new words about the topic “Cities around the world” c) Product: Students can understand and have more ideas about the topic “Cities around the world”. d) Competence: Collaboration and guessing e) Organization of the activity: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities - Present a video clip about the topic “Cities”. - Ask students to write the words relating to the topic. - Have them read the words they have exploited. - Ask Ss the question: Can you tell something about the place you live? - Lead to new topic - Unit 10: Lesson 3 - Watch the video - Work in pairs to write the words relating to the topic as many as possible. New lesson (37’)  Activity 1: Introduce and new language (10’) a) Objectives: To use new vocabulary items in communicative situations; To develop their critical thinking skills (guessing/ reasoning). b) Contents: - Learning and using language materials (Section: New words on page 84) - Practicing the listening exercise on the topic “Cities around the world” c) Products: Students can pronounce and use the new words to talk about the place they live. d) Competence: Communication, collaboration, presentation, and imagination e) Organization of the activity: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Fill in the blanks. Listen to two students talking about some cities and circle the correct answer. - Have Ss look at the questions. - Ask them to guess the information about the question. - Play the audio once. - Check answers as a whole class. b. Listen and circle “True” or “False”. - Have Ss look at the questions. - Demonstrate the activity. - Play the audio twice. - Check answers as a whole class. - Have Ss listen to the dialogue again to check the answers. a. Knowledge - read and get some ideas about Cities topic; - compare and talk about cities around the world; - write a short paragraph about a city; - improve the four-English skills; 2. Ability - improve the four-English skills (main skills: Listening and Speaking; sub-skills: Reading and Writing); - develop communication, collaboration, self-study, and problem-solving skills; - ask and answer/ write a paragraph about the topic – Cities around the world; 3.
