Competences: - Expressing preferences, Identify different foods, describe how to make a meal, complete a recipe, talk about diet, creat a menu. - Responding with "too, either, so and neither" 3.Skills: - Speaking: Identify different kinds of food, menu, recipes; Express preferences; Describe how to make a meal; Talk about diet. - Listening: Listen to monologues / dialogues within 80-100 words for general information - Reading: Read dialogues and passages within 100-120 words for general or detailed information. - Writing: Write a menu within 60-70 words with the pie chart given 4. Grammar: - Tense: Past simple - Indefinite quantifier: many, a lot of, lots of - Imperatives - Too / either - So / neither 5. Aims: - Understand the text about Hoa and her aunt, responses with "too, either, so, neither" - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the details of a text and practice food vocabulary and So do I / I do, too/ Neither do I / I don’t, either.. 2. Practice skill: - Practice the comprehension reading skill,writing and speaking skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Understand the text and complete Hoa and her aunt's shopping list, practice food vocabulary and So do I / I do, too/ Neither do I / I don’t, either.. + Advanced knowledge: In the role of Hoa and her aunt, practice the dialogue. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: spinach , cucumber , durian , papaya , (to) hate , (to) smell - structure: So do I / I do, too/ Neither do I / I don’t, either.. 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice reading for details, doing some exercises. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster, cards, real objects, speaker, computer. C. How does Hoa say ? + What is Hoa’s aunt answer? - T models, Ss’repetition : chorus - individual. - T writes the model sentences on the board. III. NEW LESSON Activity 2 : Pre Reading(12ms) : 1. Vocabulary : realia mime explanation * Checking vocabulary : Slap the board. 2. Ordering : - T asks Ss some questions : 1. Do you always cook meal ? 2. What do you think of this work? Do you like it ? 3.What do you have to do when you cook meals? - Today you will read a text about what Hoa’s aunt have to do when she cook meal. - You guess these statements ordering. - Ss work in individual to guess the order of the statements. Activity 3 : While Reading(17ms): 1. Reading and checking : - Ss read the text and check their prediction. - T corrects. Answer key : 1c, 2a, 3d, 4b, 5f, 6g, 7e. 2. Comprehension questions : A3 / p.116. - Ss work in pairs of to ask and answer. - T asks Ss to answer the questions in pairs and write the answers on the board. - T corrects. Practice skill: - practice listening skill and writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: listen for specific information to complete the story. + Advanced knowledge: Recall the text and discuss about the food and hygiene. 4. Basic language: - The tense: past simple - Struture: make somebody feel better 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice listening . B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, computer, speaker C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Mime, T/ F Prediction, Comprehension questions, Gap – fill, Retelling the story. D. III. NEW LESSON Activity 2 : Pre Listening (12ms): 1. Vocabulary : ( explain) ( Antonym of clean) Checking : ROR 2. T/ F Prediction. - Set the scene: Ba was ill last week. What ‘s the matter with him?. Les’s guess before listening. -T sticks the poster on the board. - Ask sts to give their predict . - Ask sts to compare with each other. - T collects sts’ prediction. Activity 3 : While Listening(17ms): 1: Checking prediction - Teacher plays the tape for Ss to listen - Ss listen and check their predictions - Give feedback and correct. 2: Comprehension questions - Ss listen again and answer the questions. Answer keys 1) Fish, rice, soup and spinach. 2) Ba did. 3) Because he had a stomachache. 4)The dirt on vegetables made him sick. Activity 4 : Post Listening(7ms): 1: Gap – fill - Ss complete the story B1. - Set the class in groups of 6 . Each group has a secretary. Write their answers on the poster . - Give feedback and correct. - The groups go to the board and stick their posters on the board . - Teacher corrects with Ss . 2 : Retelling the story - Call on some Ss to retell the story based on T/ F prediction and the comprehension questions . IV. SUMMARY (1 minutes) Listening about why Ba had to go to the doctor’s . V.
