Aims: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to read and understand the text about the seven wonders of the world B. Teaching aids : Text book, pictures , poster. 2. Practice skill: - Practice reading, writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge to read and understand the text about the seven wonders of the world + Advanced knowledge: Take a note about the 7 wonders. Talk about Ha Long Bay. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: + compile, claim, honor, god (n), religion, royal (a) 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to read and understand the text about the seven wonders of the world. Ss learn hard, love and conserve the good traditions, wonders. B. Teaching- aids: Textbook, pictures, posters, Cd, computer. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Slap the board, grid D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 8A 8B Teacher’s and Students’ activities Content -T draws dashes on the board, each dash is for a letter of the world -T has Ss guess the letters, one by one -For every wrong guess, draw a line (from 1 to 8), Ss will lose the game if they guess wrong 8 times III. New lesson: -Elicit words from Ss -Have Ss copy --T asks Ss to decide if the statements are true or false -T writes Ss’ guesses on the board -T asks Ss to read the text on page 134, to check their guesses -T calls on some Ss to correct the false statements -T asks Ss to choose the best answers( A,B,C or D) to complete the sentences -T puts the answers chart on the board -T/Ss Read the statements aloud and make hand gestures to show the missing words -T asks Ss to choose A, B, C or D -T corrects and has Ss write the right answers in their notebooks - T draws the grid on the board and has Ss copy it -T asks Ss to read the text again and fill in the grid with the information taken from the text * Warm up(5’)  Hangman (C ) (O) (R) (A) (L) 1 2 3 5 6 4 7 8 Revision: Coral, crystal-clear, snorkel, relaxing 1.Pre-reading(7’) Pre-teach vocabulary New words: + compile (v) + claim (v) + honor (v) + god (n) + religion (n) + royal (a)  Slap the board 2.While-reading(15’)  True/ False prediction 1.
