The aims of the lesson 1. Knowledge + The aims: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to write a class notice using a passage and the model notice + Vocabulary: discuss (v); effect(n); hardware store(n); contact(v); hold (v) = organize(v); celebrate(v); hall(n); notice(n); contest(n) = competition(n) + Structures: Format of a notice 2. Skills : - Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to write a class notice using a passage and the model notice B. Preparations 1.Teacher : posters, computer, Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, speaker, projector. 2. Students: Unit 7 Write C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Shark attack, Q & A, R & R. D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Pre - writing: (7’) 1.New-words: - hold (v) held-held - contact (v) - hardware store - hall (n)  Checking: Rub out and Remember: 2.Set the scene: The residents and store owners on Tran Phu Street are going to hold a meeting to discuss the effects of the neww mall”. - T gets Ss to read the notice and answer some questions to check their understanding 1. Read the community notice(p.68) Questions : a- Why are the residents and store owners on Tran Phu Street going to hold a meeting? b- When will they hold a meeting? What time? c- Where will they hold the meeting? 2. While - writing: (20’) -T explains how to write a notice, not write full sentences -T asks Ss to read passage 2 on page 68 2. Use the similar format to write a notice about the English Speaking contest below(p.68) -T asks Ss some questions to check Ss’ understanding and get them to use short answers - T gets Ss to write the notice individually ( 2/68) - T asks Ss to share with their partners ( pair work) Step 3. Post - writing: (10’) - T checks some notices and correct them. - T writes the model notice on the board ( elicit student to write ) - T – whole - Ss write it - T corrects if necessary - Ss play in two teams Ss to read the notice and answer some questions Answer : a- To discuss the effects of the new Mall. b- They will hold the meeting on May 20 at 8 P.M. c- They will hold the meeting at 12 Hang Dao street , Binh ‘s hardware store Questions and answers : a/ What is the English speaking club going to hold? Knowledge + The aims: By the end of the lesson ss will be able to listen and read a dialogue to know about Hoa and Na’s opinions of the country life and city life + Vocabulary: relative(n) ; entertainment(n); facility (n); prefer(v) ; province(n); accessible(a); definitely(adv) ; simple(a); clean (a); peaceful (a); remote(a); permanently(adv) + Structures : - Present perfect tense - Present progressive tense to talk about the changes - Comparative and superlative adjectives 2. Skills : - Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to listen and read the dialogue. - Educate ss to learn hard and love their village. B. Warm up: (38’) *Chatting - Talk to Ss about life in the city and life in the country by asking some questions 1. Where do you live ? 2. Do you want to live in the city ? Why ? 3. Do you want to live in the country ? Why ? => Lead in the new lesson III. New lesson (38’) Step 1.Pre -reading: - Introduce the topic of the passage reading and some new words . 1. Pre - teach vocabulary: - a relative = uncles , aunts cousins (translation) - peaceful (a): quiet and calm:thanh binh (explanation) - permanently (adv) : vinh vien , mai mai (example) - accessible = co the den gan duoc (translation) - medical facilities = cac phuong tien y te (example) * Checking vocabulary : Rub out and remember *Brainstorming (Getting started ) - Get Ss to talk about city life and country life .
