Aims: INTRODUCING THE SUBJECT AND THE METHOD OF LEARNING ENGLISH 6 - Hepl Ss have general knowledge of the subject and know how to study EL 6. Ss know the contents of the book “ Tieng Anh 6”. - By the end of this lesson, Ss will able to understand Sth about EL 6, know how to learn English effectively, know the content of “Tieng Anh 6”. 2. Practice skill: - Practice listening and speaking skills. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: To present the subject, student book, homework book, the way how to learn English. + Advanced knowledge: Answer some questions about the text book E 6. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: - Structure: B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Chatting, Q & A, L D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? It summaries the main structures and new words in each unit. - At the end of two or three units, we can find “ Grammar Practice” and Glossary”( bảng chú giải từ ) - T asks Ss to open their books. 3. T introduces to Ss some ways of learning EL.(13’) 3.1. Skill: 4 skills - Speaking: speak a sentence, a new word, a phrase, a topic......with classmates , teacher,....Beside speaking English in class , SS can communicate by English...etc. - Listening: Listen a dialogue , a paragraph ....to know or find out information and fill in blanks, or answer questions etc - Reading: Read a text or a dialogue .....then answer qts with information in text or dialogue..., or do T/F , matching.....By reading SS can understand the content of a text or a dialogue.....etc - Writing : SS can write a sentence, a paragraph , a story.....etc 3.2. Learn vocabulary, grammar structures. + Learn vocab. - SS should both read words in English and write them in papers - Write one or two example sentences with each new word in or to remember how to use the word in the right way. - Write each word and its use on the small piece of paper and stick it somewhere in house so as to learn it at any time - Should learn 6 words a day and usually revise them (Language learners should try different ways of learning words so as to find out the best way for themselves) + Learn grammar structures: - Learn them by heart and practice frequently by give examples, do exercises...etc 4. Each time T rubout a word in English, point to Vietnamese translation and ask “ what is in English?” When all English words are rubbed out , go through the vietnamese list and get ss to call out the English words or rewrite the words. 2. Asks ss togo to the board to reorder them into numbers from 0 to 5. wto = two rofu = four; etrhe = three eno = one; ifev = five ho = oh III. New lesson *Step 1:Presentation: 1. Pre- teach vocab: (8m) - T elicits some new words. Each time T rubout a word in English, point to Vietnamese translation and ask “ what is in English?” When all English words are rubbed out , go through the vietnamese list and get ss to call out the English words or rewrite the words. 2. Practice: (15m) + A6 : Ask SS to practice in pairs + A7 : Ask SS to fill suitable words in blanks ( one word/ one blank)Then ask SS to practice in pairs Nam: Hello! Lan. How are you? Lan : Hi!
