Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: expressing to offer assistance and favor and how to respond them . Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II.Preparation: 1, Teacher's: text book, teacher’s book, sub-boards, pictures, cues .2, Students': text book, note book, chalks, pens III.Procedures Teacher’s and students’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: the word – favor c. Outcome: Draw 5 gaps for the word – favor d. Organization: 1.Warm up : (5’) Shark , s attack - Cut out a shark and a school girl / boy from card - Draw some steps , then stick the cut out girl / boy on the top of the steps , the sharks in the sea . - Draw 5 gaps for the word – favor T & Ss correct 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - Ask Ss the meanings of the word FAVOR *+ What do you say to ask for a favor ? *+ When do you ask for favor ? Need some help + How do you say to respond to favor ? *+ What does the receptionist say ? + What is for ? For offering assistance + another way to offer assistance ? + How do you say to respond to assistance ? - Ask Ss to copy down the following phrases Asking for favor Responding for favor * Can / Could you help me please ? * Could you do me a favor ? * I need a favor * Can / could you ..? * Certainly / of course / sure * No problem * What can I do for you ? * How can I help you ? * I am sorry . I am really busy - Ask Ss to repeat chorally and then individually all the phrases in the chart . 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen, understand the tasks b. Content: Offering assistance Responding to assistance c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly . While-Speaking: 1. Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice the dialogues - Call on some pairs to practice in front of class . - Correct pronunciation if any . 2. Use appropriate phrases to make similar dialogues about some of the following situations with a partner. - Have Ss work in pairs . - Call on some pairs to practice in front of class . - Give feedback 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: to make the dialogue c. Outcome: students’s talks d. New lesson (40’) a. Pre – Listening - Ask SS read part: Listen and find out new words. - T guides SS to read them. - Call some SS read them again. - Gets pupils to sing the song "A-B-C" and introduce the theme of the lesson: Listen a paragraph adapted from a song by Margaret Thomas-Cochran. b. While – Listening - Teacher hangs the sub-board on and guides pupils how to listen. - Teacher turns on the tape, pupils look at the song and listen. ? Gets pupils to listen again and fill the missing words (3 times) ? Lets pupils check their answer with their friends. ? Gets pupils to give out the answer. ? Lets pupils listen again and check the answer. - Teacher gives out correct answer. c. Post – Listening - Teacher sings a new song and gets pupils to complete the missing words 4.
