Knowledge: By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to complete a song by filling the missing words and update themselves with the information about one of the best known songs in English speaking countries . - Vocabulary: - Acquaintance (n) Bring to mind, Kindness (n), Trusty (a). 2. Competencies: Co-operation, self-study. 3. Quality: Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… To have good consciousness in order to to complete a song by filling the missing words B.Teaching aids : 1. Teacher:Subboard. 2. Students: Book, notebook III. Procedure: I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! Who’s absent today? II / Warm up : Chatting 1. Do you like English songs ? 2. Can you sing any songs in English ? 3. Do you know the song which people often sing on New Year,s Eve? III. New lesson Step 1/ Pre- Listening : Introduce the topic of the listening and some new words to students . 1. Vocabulary pre – teach : - Acquaintance (n) : person who knows slightly . - Bring to mind (v) : remember - Kindness (n) : being kind to others - Trusty (a) : trustworthy / believable * Checking technique : Matching A B 1. Predictions : - Ask Ss to look at the songs in their books and read chorally . - Ask Ss to work in groups to guess the missing words and write them on the board . Step 2 / While – listening : 1. Checking prediction : - Turn on the tape several times if necessary and tell them to compare the answers with a friend . - Call on some Ss to read their answers . - Feedback and give correct Answers : a. day b. take c. mind d. hand e. kindness - Turn on the tape once more to check again . 2. Practice singing the song: - Turn on the tape and pause each sentence and ask Ss to sing after . - Have Ss sing the song without listening to the tape . Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be read a paragraph for details about opinions, feelings and memories of children about their father on Father’s day in the USA and in Australia. 2. Competencies: Co-operation, self-study. 3. Quality: Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… To know more about the love of fathers for their chidren B.Teaching aids : 1. Teacher:Subboard. 2. Students: Book, notebook III. Procedure: 1. Activity 1: Warm up (5') a. Aims: check the lesson, lead in the new lesson. b. Activity 2: Presentation (12’) a.Aims: help ss to memorize some new words, Set the scene b.Contents: Vocab, Ask students to think about adjectives c.Outcome: ss can memorize how to read and write some new words d.Organization: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Pre-reading a. Is it big? - What do you have to do to repay your Father’s kindness? - Read about the opinions, feelings and memories individually. - Check the prediction by comparing the adjectives which Rita, Jane, and Bob used to describe their fathers with the adjectives they have just guessed. - Read the text again, then work in pairs asking and answering comprehension questions on p 69. Possible answers: A. To her father. b. He is possibly dead. These ideas may tell about that: how much you are missed. Now I have chidren, Dad” c. His sence of humor. d.
