Knowledges + The aims: By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to listen to the trip to Ba’ s village, match the places on the bus route with the letter on the map, listen and talk about their village and know more about the places on the way to the countryside . - Vocabulary: - gas station (n) - highway (n) - parking lot (n) - pick somebody up, route (n): - Structure: The past simple 2. Skills : Listening, reading, writing skills and grammar 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to listen to the trip to Ba’ s village, match the places on the bus route with the letter on the map B. Preparations 1.Teacher : posters, computer, projector, speaker 2. Students: Unit 3 Listen C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work,group work - Some techniques can be used: Slap the board, Jumbled Words, Matching, Prediction . D. Procedure: I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? III / New lesson : Step1. Pre Listening : (10’) - Introduce the aims of the lesson and some words in the listening ( using the subordinate board ) airport / gas station / pond / highway / banyan tree / store / bamboo forest / Dragon Bridge / parking lot • Checking technique : Matching A 1. airport 2. gas station 3. pond 4. high way No.1 5. banyan tree 6. store 7. bamboo forest 8. Step 2. While- listening :(19’) Introduce: We will listen to a passage which describes the way from Ba,s house to his home village - Turn on the tape ( 2 0r 3 times ) - Ask them to exchange and compare their answers . - Call on some Ss to report their answers in front of class. - Remark and correct mistakes . F : store I : parking lot - Turn on the tape once more and ask Ss to check their results . Step3. Post - listening : (10’) Ask Ss to work in groups to describe some way they know . - Call on Ss to describe the way one knows . - Correct mistakes if any . Example : The way from house to school . On the way from my house to school , there is a big banyan tree and three bamboo forests . there are also rice paddies .. IV.Summary (1’) What is te text about? The places on the way to the countryside . V.Home work :(2’) 1. Learn by heart new words . 2. Copy down the passage which they described above . 3. Prepare the next lesson: Review - Play games ( Team game ) Listen and repeat all the words in chorus and individually . Work in pairs to match the words and its meanings . Read their answers aloud and copy down - Gues to match the places on the bus route with the letters on the map. - Listen and check their predictions . - Compare with a friend - Demonstrate in front of class. - Listen again and check their answers . How is wish used? Use: WISH is used when we want really to be different and exactly opposite of the truth in the present. What is it formed? Form: wish + past subjunctive Practice - ask ss to look at the real situations and rewrite the sentences with wish/ wishes. 1.It is so cold today. - I wish… 2. The Present Perfect: The Present Perfect is used to talk about something which started in the past and continues up to the present .We often use for and since with the present perfect tense. Form: S + have/has + PP For + a period of time Since + a point of time Ex 1 1. There is no more cheese. I (eat)……………. it all, I’m afraid. 2. The bill isn’t right. They (make)………….. a mistake. 3. I (turn)……….. the heating on. 5. ………They (pay)…….. money for your mother? - Review the present perfect with ALREADY & YET, EVER →Elicit from the students: + We use the past simple to talk about definite time. e.g. I went to France last year/ two months ago/ in 1992. + We use the present perfect to talk about indefinite past time. 1.
