OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know the basic information about the historic developments of the media : printed newspaper , telegraph , radio , TV . -Vocabulary: print, telegraph, invent, major, force, journalism - The past simple 2. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II./.PREPARATION: 1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector 2.Students: books, notebooks III./.PROCEDURE T’s and Ss’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Jumbled words c. Outcome: arrange the jumbled words d. Organization: - T gives the Jumbled words on the board. Ss arrange the jumbled words , then they give the answer on the board. - T corrects . - T says “ Today, we are going to listen to a dialogue about the brief history of some modern forms of media .Châu is doing an assignment about the media, she wants to ask her father some information to do the assignment”. 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (10’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - T gives new words on the board. - Ss give the meaning of the words. - T read the words twice. - Ss repeat and take note. - T checks the words by playing “ Matching” - T asks Ss to guess the information in the table. 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to listen, understand the tasks b. Content: a dialogue about the brief history of some modern forms media c. Outcome: fill in the table d. Organization: - T says “ Now you’ll hear a dialogue about the brief history of some modern forms media. You listen to the tape and fill in the table with the information you hear”. - T opens the tape twice. - Ss listen carefully and fill in the table. - Ss give the keys on the board. - T opens the tape again and Ss check the answer. - T corrects and Ss take note. - T gives some questions on the board. - Ss listen to the tape and choose T/F. - Ss give the answer on the board. - T corrects and Ss take note. 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (15’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Tag – question c. Outcome: Complete the dialogue d. Organization: - T explains the way to use tag – question. EX : Lan likes watching TV, doesn’t she ? EX: They won’t buy this book, will they? - Ss listen carefully and take note. - T gives two examples on the board. - Ss go to board and do examples. - T corrects if correcting . - Then Ss look at activity 1 and complete the dialogue. - Ss work in close pairs. - Ss practice the dialogue before the class. - T corrects. - T reviews the gerund . - Ss listen carefully and take note . . - T says “ Now you work independently. Use the words in the box to write true sentences about your partners sibling , relatives, friends and yourself. Remember to use gerunds after the verbs in the box. “ - Ss write the sentences.
