Objectives: 1.Aims: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to make suggestions with “Let’s…,What about…?, Why don’t we…?” and responding; further practice in “want to do”. 2. Practice skill: - Practice listening skill,writing, speaking skill. reading skill 3. The knowledge needs to get:. + Standard knowledge: “Let’s…,What about…?, Why don’t we…?” and responding; further practice in “want to do”. + Advanced knowledge: 4. Basic language: *Vocabulary: a suggestion, a good idea,want to do *Language: - Let's go camping. What about going to Hue? Why don't we go to Huong Pagoda? - Hỏi về ý muốn với: what, how, why. What does Lan want to do? She wants to ... 5. Attitude: Help ss to have good consciousness in order to make suggestions with “Let’s…,What about…?, Why don’t we…?” and responding; further practice in “want to do”. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Kim’s game, R & R, LN D. Procedure : I. Organization: (1m) - Class Date of teaching absent students 6A 6B 6C II. Warm up: (5m) Kim’s game ( pictures) - Give 6 pictures about activities. Group work - Ss look at the pictures on 20 seconds and remember. - Put the pictures away. - Ss go to the board to write down the activities. III. New lesson: Step 1* Presentation: 1. Pre- teach vocab: (6m) pagoda (n): chựa ( picture / filling in the sentence) minibus (n): too (adv): cũng far (adj): xa ( translation) * Checking vocab : R-O-R - Get ss to copy the words into their books and then copy, then close notebooks ask them to close the books. - Rub out the new words one at a time. Each time you rub out a word in English, point to the vietnamese translation and ask “what is this in English?”. Ss follow instructions When all the English words are rubbed out, go through the Vietnamese list and get ss to call out the English words 2. Presentation the dialogue: Set the sence: ( use the picture on p.147) ss listen Ba, Lan, Nam, Nga are going on vacation. + Pre- questions: answer without reading a. where are they gong to go? Compare in pairs b. How are they going to travel? Checking the prediction: - Ask ss to read the dialogue and check Answers : a. Huong pagoda b. by minibus + Comprehension questions: a)- g) Lucky numbers + Model sentences: Suggestions: Let’s go camping. - No, I don’t want to. walk there . go by minibus. - Yes, good idea * Concept checking: Meaning , form , use , intonation. Meaning: Chúng ta hãy … Step 2 * Practice: Ss work in pairs Picture cue drill - Run through the pictures ( pictures in warm up) - Ask ss to practice making suggestions ans responses using Let’s... and what about .... Teaching aids: Text book, lesson plan, pictures, cues. C. Techniques: T - WC, individual, groups, pairs. D. Procedures: I. Organization: (1m) - Class Date of teaching absent students 6A 6B 6C Teacher’s activities Ss’activities II. New lesson: Activity I. Present simple tense: 1. Survey: - Hang the poster on the board. - Have ss work in group to ask their partners the questions about name of sports he/she likes or dislikes. v like… x don’t like… Name Sports Season Food Drink 1. Ha football (v) swimming (x) + Example: S1: What sports do you like? S2: Football. S1: What sports don’t you like? S2: Swimming. 2. Write it up - Ask ss to use the information from the survey to write sentences about the name of sports which their partners like or dislike. Eg: Ha likes football but he doesn’t like swimming. Activity II. Adverbs of frequency. 1. Slap the board. - draw 6 circles on the board with adverbs of frequency ( Vnamese). - Ss go to the board to slap the words (English) 2. Noughts and crosses. Grammar practice 2 (p.150) TV? the movies? the store? swimming? your mom? fishing? table tennis? camping? badminton? Example: S1: How often do you (go to the movies)? S2: (Twice a year). Notes: Ss reply with what they really do. Activity III. Present progressive tense: - Ask ss to give form: S + is/ am/ are + V-ing 1. Word cue drill: - Set the scene: Today Hung is on vacation. Example: S1: Hung usually (gets up at 6). S2: That’s right, but today he’s (getting up at 7). 2. P4: They are going to go swimming. P5: They are going to watch TV. P6: They are going to cook. Activity II. Future plans, the weather. 1. Questions and answers: Planning a holiday. - Have ss answer the questions to make a plan. a. Where are you going to go? b. Who are you going to go with? c. What season are you going to go in? d. What’s the weather like then? e. What are you going to bring with you? f. How are you going to travel? g. Where are you going to stay? h. How long are you going to stay for? i. What are you going to do there? 2. Wrting: Example: Planning a holiday. I’m going to go to Sapa with my friends; Mai and Lan. We’re going to go in the Spring. It’s cold then, but we like cool weather. We’re going to bring warm clothes with us and I’m going to bring my camera. We’re going to travel by train. In Sapa we’re going to stay in a hotel for three days and we’re going to go camping. We’re going to walk in the mountains and we’re going to go fishing.
