Knowledge + The aims: - Listen and fill the information about the time and subjects at school. - Ask and answer about the timetable: subjects at school and what time, favorite subjects. - Vocabulary: subjects at school: Physics, Geography, Physical Education, History, English, Math, Music, important, difficult. - Structure: What time/ When do you have English? I have it on Monday/ at 8.20 on Monday. What is your favorite subject? I like Math 2. Skills: - Practice comprehension reading, speaking and writing skill. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice speaking, writing about timetable. B. Preparations 1.Teacher: computer, speaker, projector, text book, cards for word cue drill, poster 2. Students: Unit 4 A4 C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Word square, Open prediction, Comprehension questions, Speaking. D. Procedure: I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 7A Teacher 's activities SS' activities II. WARM UP (4 minutes) Word square . Stick the poster on the board . Ask ss to find out 12 words dealing with school . Get ss to work in pair to find out the words . Divide the class in to two teams, students from each teams go to the board and circle the words they have found then write them down in the column of their team . NEW LESSON Step 1 : Pre listening (10ms): 1. Vocabulary : ( realia ) ( translation ) ( definition ) ( translation) Check : R.O R 2 Open prediction * Set the scence This is a schedule on Friday and Saturday of the students in class 7A. Please predict 5 classes Thu has on Wednesday and Thursday: - T gets feedback. Step 2 : While Listening(18ms) : Activity 1: Checking prediction - T gives feedback. Activity 2: Comprehension questions - T puts some questions on the poster. - run through the questions. - T gives feedback . * Answer key 1. Thu has English classes on Wednesday and Thursday 2. on Wednesday at 8.40; on Thursday at 9.40 3. Thu has Math, Geography, Physical education and Music on Thursday Activity 3: Filling the gaps with time and subjects - SS run through the cue words in the box - SS compare with eachother - T gives feedback Step 3 : Post Listening(10ms): Speaking - Get ss write their schedule in their notebooks - Have them ask and answer about their schedule with their partners IV. WARM UP (5 minutes) Nought and crosses - Divide the class into two teams - Draw a nine square on the board - each sqare is numbered ( from 1 to 9 ) and there is a time in it - The team take turn to choose the words on the grid and spell the word. If their answer is right put a X or a O in that box - The first team that has three Xs or Os iin a line on the grid wins the game III. NEW LESSON Step 1 : Presentation(12ms): *Aim: -SS can understand and pronounce the new words about subjects. - T introduce the content of the lesson: Schedule *Methods: W & W. Individual * Time: 12’ * Procedure 1. Vocabulary : ( example ) ( picture ) ( picture ) ( picture ) * Check voc : What and where - Write the words on the board,put one word in each circle - Call on two teams of five students to the front of the class . -Call out the questions or staments and two ss run forward to slap the suitable answer on the board -The student slapping the correct answer first gets on mark. -Go on untill all the words slapped Step 2 : Practice (17ms): *Aim: -SS can understand and practice asking answering about the time and the schedules *Methods: Picture cues drill . Individual, pair work * Time: 17’ * Procedure Picture cues drill - Use the six pictures on page 43 for drill - Model the first picture and ask students to repeat individually - Get students to practice asking and answering following the model sentences Answer key 2. Knowledge + The aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to describe the library plan and have had further practice in asking and answering about the place of books and newspapers in the library - Listen and review the words of the school library - Vocabulary: this, that, these, those, library, rack, dictionary, reader, novel, reference book, welcome, on the left, on the right, at the back, in the middle of. - Structure: this, that, these, those, prepositions of position Where are the magazines? They are on the racks in the middle of the room. Where can I find the Math books, please? They are on the shelves on the left. These racks have magazines and those racks have newspapers. 2. Skills: - Practice comprehension reading, speaking and writing skill. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice listening & reading for details. B. Preparations 1.Teacher: computer, speaker, projector, text book, cards for word cue drill, poster 2. Students: Unit 4 B1-2 C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Jumple words, Pre questions, Grid, Comprehension questions D. WARM UP (4 minutes) Jumple words - Write the words with disorded letters on the board ( or use the poster ) - Devide the class into two teams - Ask students from each team to go to the board and write the correct words - The team which is faster with more correct words wins the game --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- III. Pre questions - Set the scence : Hoa and her friends are in the library. The librarian is introducing the books in the library to the children - Give students two questions and ask them to guess the answers - Give feed back Step 2 : While Reading(18ms): *Aim: -SS can read, understand the text and answer the questions. *Methods: Filling, Q & A * Work arrangement: pair work, Individual * Time: 18’ * Procedure Activity 1 : Checking the predictions - Get students to read the dialogue B1 on page 47 and check their answers. Activity 2 : Grid - Get ss to draw the grid in their notebooks - Encourage them to work individual and fill in the grid - Give feed back Activity 3 : Comprehension questions - Hve students read the questions on page 48 and work in pairs to answer the qestions. - Give feedback. Step 3 : Post Reading(10ms) : 1. Written exercise - Have ss make a similar grid about their school library - Get ss to work in pairs to write about their school library using the information in the grid - Take some writings and correct before class 2.
