Objectives: - Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know more about the rice-cooking festival. - Skills: Listening and reading a dialogue about the rice-cooking festival. - Behavior: Ss love more about the rice-cooking festival. - Competencies: Communicative competence, solving problems competence, cooperation and self-study competences. They can know more about the rice-cooking festival. B. Teaching aids: Tape, cassette, pictures, poster, projector C. Warm up Getting Started (10’) Chatting - writes the names on the board: Tom, David, Huckleberry, Oliver, Robinson - tells Ss these peole are going to go on their visits to Vietnam and they need advice on where to go. - introduces the names, one by one 1. Tom likes swimming and sunbathing. Where should he go? ... Why?... 2. David is interested in ancient cities... 3. Huckleberry likes mountain climbing... 4. Oliver is keen on pottery... 5. Robinson is fond of crowded places... - gives feedback and corrects - introduces the lesson: Today you are going to learn about a traditional festival. - pay attention - answer (WC) - pay attention 2. Activity 2. Presentation (10’) a. Aim: help ss to memorize some new words and review passive voice b. Content: vocabulary, structures, model sentences c. Presentation(12’) - sets the scene: Ba invites his friend Liz to a traditional festival in the north of Vietnam. Do you know what kind of festival it is? Aims: - Help ss read for details about traditional festivals. - By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to ask for explanations of events. . The knowledge + Standard knowledge: reading for details about traditional festivals. + Advanced knowledge: Talk about festivals and use compound words well. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: - fetch (v), yell (v), urge (v), rub, participate, award, teamate competition, judge. 2. Skill: - Practice listening and reading skill. 3. Attitude: -Help ss to have good consciousness in order to read for details about traditional festivals. B. techniques Textbook, pictures, posters, computer, tablets, projector, speaker. C. Techniques: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Chatting, What and Where, Pre-qs, retell. D.
