A.The aims of the lesson 1.Knowledge -The aims:By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the topic of this lesson, know some first-aids in some injured situations, listen and understand the dialogue and talk about an emergency. -Language contents: . Vocabulary: emergency (n); ambulance (n); conscious (adj); bleed (n/v); wound (n); pressure (n). . Grammar: I promise I’ll + V(inf)… Can you + V(inf)…? Will you… 2. Skills:develop communicative skills. 3. Attitude:be more carefull in some injured cases, show their positive attitude in learning English. B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 8-book, computer, speaker, projector 2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary, English 8-book.. C. Techniques: asking, answering, brainstorming, pair work, group work, eliciting, practicing, game. D. Teaching procedures: 1. Organization (2’): Class Date of teaching Absent students 8B 8C 2. New lesson: Times Teacher’s and students’ activities Contents 8’ 10’ 15’ 5’ * Warm-up:Getting started(asking, answering, group work, brainstorming) - T: introduce the situation in part getting started. Ask some questions: ? Have you ever gotten these similar situations? (for weak & medium Ss) ? What should we do in these situation? (for good Ss) - T: ask Ss to work in group of 4, discuss how to solve these situation. - Ss: work in groups. - T: control and give feedback.(encorage Ss to find out as many ways as possible, especially the local traditional first-aids) Activity 1: Presentation(eliciting, observing, practicing) - T: introduce the situation of the dialogue. Then have ss listen to the dialogue, elicit some new words through explanation, translation. - Ss: listen. - T: have ss practice pronunciation. - Ss: read in chorus then read individually, finally copy down in their notebook. Checking vocabulary: “Rub out and remember” - T: give some questions, ask Ss to listen and answer. ? Who are talking?(weak Ss) (A girl student is talking with a nurse on the phone.) ? Where are they? (medium Ss)(The nurse is at Bach Mai Hospital. The girl is at quang Trung School.) ? What happen? (good Ss)(A student is hurt. She fell off her bike and hit her head on the road.) - Ss: listen and answer. - T: play the tap again then ask Ss to practice the dialogue between a nurse and Lan in pairs. - Ss: practice the dialogue in pairs. - T: let Ss present their dialogues. - Ss: present their dialogue in front of the class. - T: control and correct their pronunciation. Activity 2: Practice(pair work, asking, answering) - T: ask ss to read the dialogue again, do exercise 2. - Ss: do the task. - T: call some ss. - Ss: give their answer. - T: give the feedback. - Ss: copy down. Activity 3: Production (group work) - T: ask Ss about some structures that are used in the dialogue. - Ss: work in group, find out and answer. - T: have Ss to present their discussing result. - Ss: present. - T: give the feedback. I.Getting Started: a.a girl has a burn on her arm.I’ll use cold water to ease the pain and then take her to the nearest hospital. b. a boy has a bad cut on his leg.I’ll wash the cut with bactericide, then I’ll bandage the cut to stanch it. c. a girl has a nose bleed.I’ll leave her lying flat and stuff her nose with cotton wool to stop the bleeding. d. a boy has a bee sting.I’ll apply time to the area around the sting to stop the sting from being swollen. II. Vocabulary: - Wheelchair (n); crutch (n); eye chart (n); scale (n); stretcher (n). 2. Grammar: - Requests:Can/ Could you…?/ Will/ Would you…? Sure./ OK./ All right… - Offers:Would you like…?/ What can I get for you?/ Shall I…? Yes, please./ That would be nice - Promises: I will I promise…/ I promise I won’t…/ I promise to…  I hope so./ Good./ I’m glad./ Don’t forget. 2.
