Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be a ble to know the development of the media and tell about it 2. Skills: Speaking, listening, reading 3. Attitude: - Positive about the media. - Students know how to learn English in right way. 4. Competence and quality: 4.1. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 4.2. Quality: Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II./.PREPARATION: 1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector 2.Students: books, notebooks III./.PROCEDURE 1. Organization 1’ Class Date of teaching Absent students 9C 9B T’s and Ss’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Active words and structures c. Outcome: Ss’ understanding, ability of using the words and structures d. Organization: - T asks Ss to give some activities that they do in their free time. 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - T says “ Nowadays, media has become very popular in our life. In unit 5 .we will learn about this interesting topic. First, you work in pairs, ask and answer questions about your favorite activities mentioned in Getting Started. See example in book. “ - Ss look at the pictures in book and Ss work in pairs ( close pairs ). - T totals by asking Ss some questions . - T asks “ what kind of media is most familiar to you? And which one is popular in Viet Nam?” - Ss answer freely. - T says “ In order to know about the media clearly. We’ll continue studying “ Listen and read” - T uses four pictures in book to explain new lesson. - T gives new words on the board. - Ss guess meaning of new words. - T reads new words twice. - Ss listen carefully and repeat. - T reviews new words by playing” Rub out and remember”. -T gives the poster of statements on the board. - Get students to work in pairs to put the statements in correct order. - T explains the grammar. - Ss listen carefully and take note. - T explains the grammar. - Ss listen carefully and take note. 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen, understand the tasks b. Content: - answer the questions in the questionaire. c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly d. Organization: - T opens the tape twice. - Ss listen the tape - Ss read the passage individually ( about 3 students) - T says “ Now you read the passage again and complete the table. Fill in the passage letters in which the facts and events mentioned.” - T asks Ss to work individually then share with their partners. - T corrects . - Ss take note. - T says “ Now you read the passage again and answer the questions ( a, b, c ). - Ss work in group. Then Ss practice answer before the class. And they give the answer on the board. - T corrects . - Ss take n 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discuss to decide T/F c. Outcome: students’s talks d. A: How many hours a week do you spend watching TV? B: about 4 or 5 hours, I guess. Organization: - T says “ Now you work in close pairs and open pairs about the dialogue between Lien and Trung on page 42 ( about 2 pairs ).” - Ss work in pairs before the class. - T corrects pronunciation. 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: students’s talks d. Organization: - T says “ Now base on the sample dialogue and information in the table , you make similar dialogues to talk about the programs you like and dislike.” - Ss work in close pairs ( 3 minutes ). - Then Ss practice the dialogue before the class. - T corrects and maybe T gives the possible answer - T says “ Now you look at the table, and practice with the classmates about Tuan, Hanh, Mai, Anh with TV programs these people like and dislike.” - Ss work in close pairs. - Some pairs practice the dialogue before the class. - T correct - T asks Ss to work in close pairs . - Some pairs practice the dialogue before the class.
