Mô tả: Date of preparing: 06/09/2019 Period 8 UNIT 2: PERSONAL INFORMATION LESSON 2: A4-5 A.Objectives: - talk about sure events in the future using “ Will " future positive statements and "Wh" questions . 1.Skills: - practice speaking, reading and writing skill. 2. Language focus: - Vocabulary: meet,free,will - Tenses: Future + Standard knowledge: Understand and use the verb “will” to talk about the actions which will happen; Ask and answer about the actions which will happen; Invite someone to do something and respond; Write questions and answers in part A4 in the book. + Advanced knowledge: Make a similar dialogue as A4 ; Write a summary of the dialogue in part A4 . 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice talk about sure events in the future . B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 7-book, computer, projectors 2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary, English 7-book, C. Techniques: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work,group work - Some techniques can be used: : Word cue drill, Slap the board, Presentation Dialogue, Substitution Drill. D. Procedure: I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 7A 7B Teacher and students' activities Contents II.Warm up (5’) Slap the board: -Write the words all over the board in the circle -Call out two students of five students to the front of the class -Call out the Vietnamese words and two studentsrun forward to slap the suiable answer on the board. The student slapping the correct first gets on mark -Go on untill all the words slapped III-New lesson Step 1:Presentasion (10’) 1 .Vocabulary -Synonym with see - Antonym with busy - Translation * Check voc: R.O .R 2. Presentation Dialogue ( A4 P 21) - Set the scence: Phong and Tam are talking on the phone. What are they talking about? - Drill the dialogue -T models - T-WC H-H open pairs closed pair - Have ss to work individual to scan the dialogue and answer the questions ( short answer ) *Concept check: Meaning . What do the sentences mean ? . Look at the first question, where is the verb ? ( meet ) . Is “ will “ an auxilary verb or a verb ? ( auxilary verb ) . look at the answer, what is the cotraction of “will “ ? ( ‘ll ) . How is the verb standing behind “will” ? ( infinitive verb ) . What subjects come after “ will “ ? ( all the subjects ) Step 2: Practice(15’) * Substitution Drill - Give students the substitution drill in “ wh ‘ questions only * Word cue drill - SS run through the cues - T models - T-WC H-H - open pairs closed pairs Step 3: futher practice(10’) Listening - Set the scence: Lan calls Nga. She wants her to go with. The teams take turn to choose the numbers - Tell students that they have to make questions about personal information when teacher gives them a word as a cue III-New lesson Step 1: Pre – reading(10’) 1. Skills: - practice pronunciation of "th" in ordinal numbers, practice listening and speaking skill. 2. Language focus: - Vocabulary: leap year, except, to appear, all the rest, first, second, third, fifth, ninth, twelfth, twentieth. - Structure: What is your date of birth? – June first (the first of June). + +Standard knowledge: Ask and answer the questions about birthdays; Listen and write the the ordinal numbers, months in the year; Distinguish the use of cardinal and ordinal numbers. + Advanced knowledge: Do some difficult exercises about cardinal and ordinal numbers; Listen and write some dates by listening to the tape. 3. Warm up (5’) Pelmanism - Prepare twelve cards with numbers on one side and ordinal numbers on the other - Stick the card on the board so that the syudents can only see the numbers - Divide the class into two teams to choose two numbers at the same time - Turn over the cards and see if they match If not turn the cards face down again and ask other team to choose numbers - Continue untill all the cards are turned III-New lesson Step 1: Presentation(10’) 1. Vocabulary - Twelfth = 12th - twentieth = 20th - twenty –first = 21st - thirtieth = 30th - thirty – first = 31st *Check voc: Jumbled words - Write the words with disorded letters on the board ( or use the poster ) - Devide the class into two teams - Ask students from each team to go to the board and write the correct words - The team which is faster with more correct words wins the game 2. Matching: (B3 P24) - Have students guess and match the months of the year - Write the months of the year on the left side and the vietnamese equivalent on the right side - Ask students to go to the board and match the months with their vietnamese translation - T gives feed back - Ask students to read the months chorrally 3. Open prediction - Ask studens to predict three dates they will hear in the tape - Ask ss to compare with each other - T gives feed back Step 2: Practice (15’) Listening - Ask students listen to the tape and check their prediction. Step 3: Further practice (10’) Writing - SS write the months in order from first to twelfth into their notebooks. Survey - Ask ss to write the form in their notebook. - Ask ss to work in group of 4.
