Practice skill: - practice comprehension reading, speaking and writing skill. 2. Basic language: - Vocabulary: apartment, empty, better, furnished, suitable, the best, modern. - Structure: S + be + more+ long adj + than + O... ( more expensive) S + be + the most + long adj + N... ( the best, the most suitable, the newest, the cheapest...) + Standard knowledge: - Recognize the comparatives and superlatives in the dialogue and understand them. - Read, understand part B5 and answer the questions. - Write the comparative and superlative sentences + Advanced knowledge: Write the comparative and superlative sentences to compare the apartments. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to learn hard and know how to compare things and people. B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 7-book, computer, projectors 2. Presentation dialogue - Set the scene. (P.35) - Ask ss to read the dialogue between Jone and Nhat and answer the questions on p. 36 - Give feedback 3. Model sentences: - T elicits the model sentences from Ss by using these question: What does Nhat say about the apartment at number 40? - 79? Step 2: Practice (15’) Word Cue Drill - Ask ss to run through the cues. - Give an example. - Get ss to work in group of three to make comparatives and superlatives - Give feedback Step 3: Further Practice(8’) Written Exercise -SS write sentences with the superlative and comparative. -SS work individual. -Ss compare with eachother. -T gives feedback. Language: - The tense: Will future, Present Simple Tense and prepositions, Occupations. + Standard knowledge: Further practice with the Will future, Present Simple Tense, prepositions, Occupations. + Advanced knowledge: use : If only + clause( past tense/be-were) 3. Warm up(5’) Guessing the occupations - Give the definition and ask ss to find out the words( occupations ) as quickly as they can. - Give one mark for the student who finds out the word fastest. 1. A person who fights fires. He is very brave. ( fire man ) 2. A person who lives in the countryside and he grows vegetables. ( farmer ) 3. A person who teaches students in the school. ( teacher ) 4. A person who drives a tax.i ( taxi drive) 5. A persnon who works in a hospital and makes sicks people well. ( doctor/ nurse ) 6. A person who works in a factory ( worker ) 7. ( journalist ) III-New lesson Activity 1: Kim’s game - Ask ss to look at the pictures on page 39 , try to remember the positions of the cat and then write sentences - SS have 30 seconds to look at the pictures. - SS work in pairs to write sentences in 3 minutes. - Divide the class into two teams. Each member of each team goes to the board to write sentences. - The winner is the one that has more correct sentences. Activity 2: Writing - SS work individual to complete the passages. - SS compare with eachother. - T gets students’ answers. - T gives feed back. Activity 3: Nought and crosses - Ask ss to loook at Nam’ s diary about tomorrow. - Write the things Nam will do and the things he won’t do. - Divide the class in to two teams, using the cue words to make sentences. 1. III-New lesson(35’): Teacher & students’ activities Contents * Warm up Bingo - Ask ss to write down on their notebooks five ordinal numbers ( from 1- 20 ) - T prepares a list of ordinal numbers - T calls out each number in a loud voice - SS listen to the teacher carefully, if anyone has the same numbers , they cross them out. The first person crossing out all five numbers shouts ‘ Bingo’ and wins the game. Activitive 1 : Language Focus 3 - Get ss to write the correct ordinal numbers from the table on page 38 - SS write individually. - Ss compare with their partners. - T gives feed back. Activitive 2 : Language Focus 5 Picture drill - Ask ss to look at Language forcus 5 on page 39-40 - Get ss to work in group of three to make comparatives and superlatives - Give feedback Activity 3 : Language Focus 7 - Ask ss to run through the picture - Ask ss the qestion: What are there in the picture? - SS answer orally - Ask ss to complete the sentences - T gives feed back 1.
