Mô tả: Date of preparing: 25/9/2020 Period 10 UNIT 2: PERSSONAL INFORMATION LESSON 4: B1-3 A.The aims of the lesson 1.Knowledge -The aims: - Remember, read, write ordinal numbers and months of the year; ask and answer about the birthday. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to remember, read, write ordinal numbers and months of the year; ask and answer about the birthday. - Vocabulary: leap year, except, to appear, all the rest, first, second, third, fifth, ninth, twelfth, twentieth. - Structure: What is your date of birth? – June first (the first of June). + +Standard knowledge: Ask and answer the questions about birthdays; Listen and write the the ordinal numbers, months in the year; Distinguish the use of cardinal and ordinal numbers. + Advanced knowledge: Do some difficult exercises about cardinal and ordinal numbers; Listen and write some dates by listening to the tape. 2. Skills: - practice pronunciation of "th" in ordinal numbers, practice listening and speaking skill. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice speaking and listening about the ordinal and cardinal numbers, dates, months of the year and birthday. B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 7-book, computer, projectors 2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary, English 7-book, C. Teachniques: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Pelmanism, Matching, Open prediction, Survey. D. Warm up (5’) Pelmanism - Prepare twelve cards with numbers on one side and ordinal numbers on the other - Stick the card on the board so that the syudents can only see the numbers - Divide the class into two teams to choose two numbers at the same time - Turn over the cards and see if they match If not turn the cards face down again and ask other team to choose numbers - Continue untill all the cards are turned III-New lesson Step 1: Presentation(10’) 1. Vocabulary - Twelfth = 12th - twentieth = 20th - twenty –first = 21st - thirtieth = 30th - thirty – first = 31st *Check voc: Jumbled words - Write the words with disorded letters on the board ( or use the poster ) - Devide the class into two teams - Ask students from each team to go to the board and write the correct words - The team which is faster with more correct words wins the game 2. Matching: (B3 P24) - Have students guess and match the months of the year - Write the months of the year on the left side and the vietnamese equivalent on the right side - Ask students to go to the board and match the months with their vietnamese translation - T gives feed back - Ask students to read the months chorrally 3. Open prediction - Ask studens to predict three dates they will hear in the tape - Ask ss to compare with each other - T gives feed back Step 2: Practice (15’) Listening - Ask students listen to the tape and check their prediction. Step 3: Further practice (10’) Writing - SS write the months in order from first to twelfth into their notebooks. Survey - Ask ss to write the form in their notebook. - Ask ss to work in group of 4. Skills: - practice listening, speaking and writing skill. 2. Language focus: - Vocabulary: worry, nervous, worried - Structure: Review: What is your date of birth? = When is your birthday? Where do you live? = What is your address? + Standard knowledge: Read the dialogue, understand the dialogue and answer the questions from a-f + Advanced knowledge: Ask for and give personal information in real dialogues, write their own dialogues, write about themselves. 3. Warm up(5’) Lucky number - Write ten numbers on the board from 1 to 10 - Tell ss each number is for a questibut 4 of them are lucky numbers. If they choose a lucky number, they do not need to answer any question but they get 2 points and they canchoose another number. If their answer is correct they will get one point - Devide the class into two teams. The team takes turn to choose the numbers - Tell students that they have to answer about personal information III-New lesson Step 1: Pre – writing(10’) 1. What is she doing? - Ss read the text individually . - Ask ss to work in pairs to and answer the questions - Give feed back Step 2: While – writing(15’) - read the text about Lan and find out the answers to the questions. - answer the questions in pairs - to read the text aloud. 1. Gap-fill (B6.P27) - Set the scence: Lan is going to have a birthday party at her house. She wants to invite you to her birthday party. You have to help her to complete the invitation card to Lan’ party using the informationfrom the answers to complete the invitation card. 2. Writing - Ask ss to imagine they will be a guess at Lan’s birthday party. - Give students the question B7 on p. 27 - Ask students to work in pairs to answer the questions - Give feed back - Ask ss to join the answers in full sentences to form a paragraph Possible answer “ I’ll go to Lan’s house to join in her birthday party. I’ll give her a beautiful doll as a birthday present.I’ll take a bus to Lan’s house because it’s about 3 kms from my house to hers.
