Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to to understand more about ways of learning English well and know how to attend in an interview 2. Skills: Speaking, listening, reading 3. Attitude: - Positive about learning a forreign language. - Students know how to learn English in right way. 4. Competence and quality: 4.1. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 4.2. Quality: Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II./.PREPARATION: 1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector 2.Students: books, notebooks III./.PROCEDURE -Organization(1’) Class Date of planning Absentstudents 9A 9B T’s and Ss’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Active words and structures, network c. Outcome: Ss’ understanding, ability of using the words and structures d. Organization: - Ss work in group, every group gives the ways to learn English well. Which group gives many ways to learn is winner. - Then Ss compare that way with” Getting started” in book. And Ss check the things they do from the list. - T introduces some ways in learning English on the board. - T uses the picture on page 33 to introduce new lesson. 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - T gives new words on the board. - Ss guess the meaning of the words. - T reads the words twice and Ss repeat. -T checks the words by playing “ What and where ”. + T writes the new words on the board, each word in each circle, asks Ss to repeat the words chorally, and rub out word by word but leave the circles. + T and SS go on all the circles are empty, then T gets Ss to go to the board and write the words in their correct circles - Ss take note. - T explains new grammar. - Ss listen carefully and take note. 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen, understand the tasks b. Content: - answer the questions in the questionaire. c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly d. Organization: - T says “ Lan is talking to Paola, a foreign student, about the oral examination that that she has just taken . Can you guess which questions the examiner ask Lan ?”. - Ss guess. - T says “Lan is talking to Paola about the oral examination she has had. First , you look at the book and listen to the tape to get the main idea of the conversation.” - Ss listen to the tape twice . - Ss practice the dialogue with a classmate ( about 3 pairs) 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: students’s talks d. Organization: - Ask student to work in pairs to practice asking and answering. One student plays the role of examiner and another plays the role of Lan. - Call on some pairs to demonstrate before the class. One student report the questions - T says “Now you read the conversation again and see what exactly examiner asked Lan. I think it would be better if we go to Australia because the course is cheap, only US $ 1,200. we can stay with an Australian family to practice speaking English . Beside that it has beautiful scenery and it is quite close to Viet Nam. You agree with me, don’t you? -Thu and Tam : Maybe, Let’s second thought. Suggested talk - Hi, everybody! I’m Thu.
