Knowledge + The aims: - By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to listen and read for details about Dr Lai and Minh, use the present simple tense. - Vocabulary: to remind, to explain, surgery, serious, to smile at, healthy, to notice - Structure: Try not to forget, brushing teeth is very important. Present simple tense. 2. Skills: Listening, reading, speaking and writing. 3. Attitude: Sts will have attitude to take care of their teeth well. B. Preparations 1.Teacher: computer, speaker, projector, text book, cards for word cue drill, poster 2. Students: Unit 10 B3 C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Open – prediction, Pre- questions, Answer given, Recall. D. Vocabulary : (explaination) Sts : - listen. - listen and repeat (chorally then individually). - copy. Checking : Rub out and remember 2. Pre- questions - Teacher gives the questions and asks sts to guess the answers. Activity 2 : While reading Activity 1 : Checking the prediction - Ss read the text and answer the pre- questions. Knowledge + The aims: By the end of the lesson ,Ss will be able to make questions with “ Why” and give the answer with ‘ because” to talk about reason - Vocabulary: brush, toothpaste, toothbrush - Structure: Minh's tooth hurts. Why? = Why does Minh's tooth hurt? Because he has a cavity. 2. Skills: Listening, reading, speaking and writing. 3. Attitude: Sts will have attitude to take care of their teeth well. B. NEW LESSON Activity 2: Presentation( 7ms) : *Aim: -SS can understand and pronounce the words well. T introduces the content of the text. *Methods: Presentation text, Model sentences Ask and answer Individual, pair work * Time: 7’ * Procedure 1. Presentation text - Set the scence : Minh has to go to the dentist. He talks to Hoa. Hoa’s mother doesn’t know the reason. So she asks Hoa. Model sentences Why does Minh’s tooth hurt ? Because he has a cavity Concept check : Meaning: Form: What does the question begin with ? – Why Do you ask for result of cause ? – cause What does the answer begin with ? – “ because” Use: When do you use the question ? - To ask for reason. Activity 3 : Practice (10ms): *Aim: -SS can understand and practice asking and answering about the reason. *Methods: Word Cue Dril, True/ False repetition Individual, pair work * Time: 17’ * Procedure 1: Word cue drill - SS run through the cues. - T makes a model.
