Aims: By the end of the lesson, SS will be able to: - Know the names and the flags of some countries. - Practice reading for details about a vacation abroad. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: - To know details about a vacation abroad. + Advanced knowledge: Write a using schedule. 4. Basic language: + Vocabulary: vacation, tour, include, pick sb up, price + Grammar: Present progressive tense 2. skill: - Practice the comprehension reading and writing. 3. Attitude:- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to reading for details about a vacation abroad, know about the flags and symbols of some countries. B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 8-book, computer, projectors 2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary, English 8-book, C. Tchniques: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Matching, Filling, slap the board, Write it up, … D. Warm up(5’) - Show the photocopied pictures to Ss; one by one, and ask Ss to guess what country it is ? Ask Ss work in pairs to match the names of the countries in the box with appropriate pictures/flags. ? Call some SS to match. - T corrects. ? Ask work in pairs to tell their partners which country they would like to visit and why? III. New lesson(36’) Step 1. Presentation (10 ms). 1. New words. - vacation (adv): ra n¬uíc ngoµi, ë nu¬íc ngoµi - tour (n): chuyÕn du lÞch - include (v): bao gåm - pick sb up( phra): ®ãn ai ®ã - price (n): gi¸ (mua, b¸n) - Check: Slap the board. 2. Prediction Date Mon 25 Tue 26 *Wed 27 Thur 28 Step 2. Practice (18 ms). ? Listen to the tape one more time again.Then read the dialogue in silent. ? Ask Ss to work in pairs (4’)to complete Mrs Quyen’s schedule with the information taken from the dialogue. - 1 ss work as a teacher ? Call some SS to complete the schedule, others remark. - T corrects. ? Ask SS read the dialogue in silent again. Then work in pairs to answer the questions. ? Call some write answers on the board, others practice in oral. - T corrects. Step 3. Production (8 ms). ? Ask SS work in pairs to practice the dialogue. ? Call some pairs to practice it. - T corrects. - Write about Mrs Quyen using Mrs Quyen’s schedule. IV. Summary( 2’) - T repeats the contents of the lesson. V. Aims: After this period, students will be able : know the way to talk about planning a tour and get acquainted with word relating to the topic -Knowledge + Standard knowledge: - To know the way to talk about planning a tour and get acquainted with word relating to the topic + Advanced knowledge: Write an itinerary. . Basic language: Grammar: Future expressions: will, shall, should + V. Vocabulary: departure, arrival, via, rate 2. Practice skill: - Practice speaking. 3. Attitude:- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to talk about planning a tour and get acquainted with word relating to the topic B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 8-book, computer, projectors 2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary, English 8-book, C. Techniques: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Kim’s game, slap the board, Ordering events, telling story. Chatting, rub out and remember … D. While - speaking: (15’) - T guides Ss to complete your itinerary -How many flights a week? -Can you take from Los Angeles to Boston? -Which flight do you take everyday of the week? -Which of hotel is cheaper? -How much is a double room in Revere Hotel? -How about Atlantic Hotel? -Where can you visit? - T gives a model and hangs on the board • Where shall we stay? -> The Revere Hotel is very expensive but it has a gym • Where should we visit? -> I think we should visit Harvard Medical school and Art Gallery. • What time should we leave Los Angeles? -> There is a daily flight at ten am. Then elicit some new words through explanation, translation, pictures. - Ss: listen. - T: have ss practice pronunciation. - Ss: read in chorus then read individually, finally copy down in their notebook. Checking vocabulary: “Matching” - T: ask Ss to look at the boxes which they have to fill in after listening. - Asks Ss predict which they are going to hear. - Ss: predict then give their ideas. - T: get their prediction. * While-listening: (15’) - Ss: listen to the tape then check their predictions. - T: ask ss to listen to the tape again then fill in the table. - Ss: think of the words which they have listened. (1-2 minutes). - T: turn on the radio again (1-2 minutes). - Ss: give the words for each place. - T: give the answer and correct the mistakes. * Post-listening(8’) (asking, answering, pair work) - Asks Ss to talk about the weather in different country use information in listen part.
