Aims:- Tell about their neighbors, use interrogative questions with "Did". - By the end of the lesson ,Ss will be able to use the past simple tense with negative and interrogative form and short answers to talk about past activities. -The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Answer the questions in B1; Write answers for B2. Write 3 other questions and answers. + Advanced knowledge: Ask and answer with friends "Did you.....?" - Basic language: - Vocabulary: hairdresser, material, clever, dressmaker - structure: Did you buy it? - No, I didn't. Mrs Mai bought it. 2. Practice skill: - practice the comprehension reading skill,writing and speaking skill. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice reading for detalis, doing some exercises and use the questions with "Did..." B. Preparations 1. Teacher: lesson plan, English 7-book, computer, projectors 2. Students: review the grammar points and vocabulary, English 7-book, C. Techniques: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Pelmanism, Presentation Dialogue, Question - answer, Guessing game. D. Divide the class into 2 teams. - Let Ss play the game. III-New lesson Activity1: Presentation (8’) 1. Aims: - Read a text about hobbies and answer questions; describe a process and further practice past simple tense. - By the end of the lesson ,Ss will be able to read about Hoa’s sewing work and futher practice in Wh questions to talk about past activities. -The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Read and answer the questions, adverbs of frequency, change the verbs into past tense. + Advanced knowledge: Retell the process Hoa learned to sew (B4) - Basic language: - Vocabulary: to sew, useful, hobby, decide, sewing machine, cushion, to fit, to try on. - structure: decide to V, try on smth, + First, then, next, then, finally. 2. Practice skill: - practice the comprehension reading skill,writing and speaking skill. 3. Activity 2: While – reading(15’) 1. Cheking the prediction - Ss read the text B3 on page 93 to check their prediction. - Give feedback and correct. Comprehension questions - Ask Ss to read the text again to answer the questions bellow the text. * Noughts and crosses : - Draw the table on the board . - Divide the class into 2 groups ( X; O ). - Check the rules . - Let Ss play the game. - Praise the winner . Activity 3: Post – reading(8’) 1. Ordering: - Ask Ss to copy the verbs in their notebooks. - Ask Ss listen to the text and number the verbs in the order they hear. - Teacher reads: Hoa watched her neighbor make her dress. She decided to learn how to sew. First she bought some material. Then she made a cushion for her armchair. Next she cut out the dress. The cushion was fine but the dress wasn’t. Then her neighbor helped her so finally it fitted. 2. Aims: - Read the letter A1 and answer the questions from a-f; talk about habits and routines with present simple. - By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to understand the details of a letter about Hoa and her family . The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Find out Hoa's daily routines in A1; Read and answer the questions from a-f. + Advanced knowledge: Tell about their daily routines. . Basic language: - Vocabulary: nearly (adv), harvest time (n), to hear, to iron, to stay up late, probably (adv), to receive, to take morning exercises, so (adv), to forget. - structure: What does Hoa's mother want her to do? What does she want her not to do? 2. Practice skill: - practice the comprehension reading skill,writing and speaking skill. 3. Ordering statements - Set the scence: Hoa has got a letter from her parents. Here is the letter but the sentences are not in correct order. Please reorder them before reading by predicting. - Teacher sticks the poster on the board. - Ask ss to run through the sentences . - ASk ss to copy down the table and predict the correct order. - Give feedback. - Teacher writes Ss’ ideas on the board. Activity 2: While - reading (15’) (A1.P99) 1. Checking the prediction - Ss read the letter and check their prediction. - Give feedback and correct. 2. Answer given - Teacher sticks the poster with 5 statements on it. - Tell Ss they are 5 answers for 5 questions . Ask Ss to make questions for these answers base on the letter from Hoa’s Mom. - Ss work in pairs to make questions. - Give feedback: Divide the class into 2 groups . Ss from each group in turns go to the board and write the questions . The group will more correct questions win the game. Activity 3: Post – reading(8’) Question- Answer - Ss ask and answer about Hoa’s Mom letter, using the answer given and questions from a to e on p.100. - Ss work in pairs to do the task. * Brainstorm: lives with… likes… from… lives in… 1.
