Aims:- By the end of the lesson ,Ss will be able to make questions with “ Why” and give the answer with ‘ because” to talk about reason, write poster on how to take care of teeth. 2. Practice skill: - Practice writing and speaking skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Ask and answer about the reason. + Advanced knowledge: Write poster on how to take care of teeth. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: brush, toothpaste, toothbrush - structure: Minh's tooth hurts. Why? = Why does Minh's tooth hurt? Because he has a cavity. 5. Attitude: - Sts will have attitude to take care of their teeth well. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods:- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Jumble word, Word cue drill, True/ False repetition, Noughts and crosses. D. WARM UP (3 minutes) Activity 1. Jumble word - Ss take it in turns to go to the board and write the correct words. - Teacher corrects. III. NEW LESSON Activity 2: Presentation( 7ms) : *Aim: -SS can understand and pronounce the words well. T introduces the content of the text. *Methods: Presentation text, Model sentences Ask and answer Individual, pair work * Time: 7’ * Procedure 1. Presentation text - Set the scence : Minh has to go to the dentist. He talks to Hoa. Hoa’s mother doesn’t know the reason. So she asks Hoa. Model sentences Why does Minh’s tooth hurt ? Because he has a cavity Concept check : Meaning: Form: What does the question begin with ? – Why Do you ask for result of cause ? – cause What does the answer begin with ? – “ because” Use: When do you use the question ? - To ask for reason. Activity 3 : Practice (10ms): *Aim: -SS can understand and practice asking and answering about the reason. *Methods: Word Cue Dril, True/ False repetition Individual, pair work * Time: 17’ * Procedure 1: Word cue drill - SS run through the cues. - T makes a model. (Question first then answer) S1 : Why does Minh’s tooth hurt ? S2 : Because it has a cavity - T- Wc => H- H ; - open pairs => closed pairs 2: True/ False repetition Teacher reads Ss say 1. Minh goes to the dentist because he has a toothache. 2. He’s scared because he hates the sound of the drill. 3 .The cavity is not serious because it’s small . 4.Minh’s tooth hurts because he always brushed his teeth. - Repeat - Repeat - Repeat - Silient Activity 4 : Production:(7ms) : Noughts and crosses - Ss practice making and answering the questions with “ Why- Because” . - Divide the class into 2 groups ( X;O). - Let Ss play the game. Practice skill: - Practice listening, reading skill and speaking skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Practice reading the dialogue, understand the dialogue and do the exercises after reading the dialogue. + Advanced knowledge: Practice the dialogue in the role of Hoa and the nurse. 4. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Listen to fill in the gaps; ask and answer to complete the medical record. + Advanced knowledge: Practice speaking in pairs to complete their own medical record. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: male , female , weight - Structure: Which school does he go to? How tall are you? or What’s you height ? How heavy are you ? or What’s your weight ?
