OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to to know some difficulties in learning El by listening to the conversation between Nga and Kate -Vocabulary: + National bank (n), international, + Improve (v) + Excellent (a) -The present simple 2. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: Loving learning a forreign language. Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II./.PREPARATION: 1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector 2.Students: books, notebooks III./.PROCEDURE T’s and Ss’activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Active words and structures c. Outcome: Ss’ understanding, ability of using the words and structures d. Organization: - T gives Ss a piece of paper and asks Ss survey the classmate. - Then Ss give the survey on the board. - T gives the keys on the board which ways is the most popular. 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - T gives new words on the board. - Ss take note - T reads the words twice and Ss repeat. 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (10’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen, understand the tasks b. Content: a conversation between Nga and Kate c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly. Answer the questions. d. Organization: - T says “ We are going to hear a conversation between Nga and Kate about Nga’s studying English. Read the statements in the book to get some information about Nga .” - Ss guess True/ false - Ss listen to the tape twice and choose - Then Ss listen again, and Ss check the answer with the classmates. - Some Ss give the answer on the board. - T opens the tape again - T gives the questions on the board. - Ss discuss in the group, and every group give the answer on the board. - T corrects. - Ss take note. . ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (15’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: students’s talks d. Organization: Ss practise speaking in pairs to ask and answer HOMEWORK - T gives the homework on the board. - Ss take note. 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know information in advertisement about English courses -Vocabulary: advertisement, details, request, beginner/intermediate/advanced, well – qualified academy, Council 2. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: - Positive about learning a forreign language.Students know how to learn English in right way. Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II./.PREPARATION: 1.Teacher: book, planning, picture, laptop, projector 2.Students: books, notebooks III./.PROCEDURE T’s and Ss’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Organization: - T says “ This is 3 advertisements about the English Courses offered 3 language school : Foreign Language Council; Tuition; academy of language. You look at carefully and find new words “ Tuition If you want to improve your English, we can help you. Our teachers offer afternoon, evening and weekend classes for those new to English. We are at 108 Trang Thi street - T gives new words on the board. - Ss guess meaning of new words. - T reads new words twice and Ss listen carefully and repeat. - Ss take note. - T checks new words by playing “ Rub out and remember “ - T says “ Mr Lam wants to attend a foreign language course. Guess what he needs for his class”. - Ss guess ( work in pairs ) 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to read information about the English classes from the advertisements and understand the tasks b. Content: - answer the questions in the questionaire. c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly d. Organization: - T says “ You are going to read 3 advertisements about the English courses offered by 3 language school : Foreign language Council, Tuition and Academy of language. You read and note down information about the English classes from the advertisements.” - Ss look at part a) and note down information. - Ss work in group, then Ss give the answer on the board. - T corrects. - Ss take note Notes English class - early evening - intermediate level - starting late October/ early November - T says “ This is Lam’ notes. You read the notes made by Mr Lam to know his requirements for an English course. Then you read the advertisements again and choose a suitable language school for him.” - Ss work in pair and some pairs give the answer on the board. - T corrects and Ss take note 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: students’s talks d. Organization: - T hangs the advertisement on the board, Ss look at about 2 munitues. Then T asks Ss to give information which they remember best. Which group gives more information is the winner.
