Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: Educate ss to learn hard and love their motherland. Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II.Preparation: 1, Teacher's: text book, teacher’s book, sub-boards, pictures, cues .2, Students': text book, note book, chalks, pens III.Procedures Teacher’s and students’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Active words and structures, word square. c. Outcome: Ss’ understanding, ability of using the words and structures d. Organization: Ask Ss to find out 7 adjectives : - Ask Ss to work in 2 teams - Ask Ss to go to the board and circle the word they find - The team which circles more words will win the game . ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: Structure with get and become d. Organization: Setting the scene “ Hoa,s grand father is 78 “ - Five years ago , she was 73 and she was stronger than she is now . - Ask Ss to make a sentence about her health => Hoa,s grand father is getting weaker + Form : am / is / are + V-ing + Use : used to describe changes with get and become 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen, understand the tasks b. Content: the changes of the town c. Outcome: talk to their partners about the changes of the town d. Organization: - Ask Ss to look at the two pictures on page 73 and talk to their partners about the changes of the town . Listen A.Objectives: 1. Aims: By the end of the lesson, SS will be able to listen to the dialogue and complete the missing words. Revision of how to make a phone call. 2. Practice skill: - Practice listening. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Listen to the dialogue and complete the missing words. + Advanced knowledge: Creating a telephone conversation 4.Basic language: + Vocabulary: phone, call, arrive, hold on a moment + Grammar: Present progressive tense (Review) 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to listen the text. - Educate ss to make a phone call B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster, speaker, computer. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Chatting, A&A, D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Pre – Listening (10’). Brainstorming T gives Ss 5 minutes to think of the phrases or sentences they often use when they start making a phone call. - Set the scene: Use the picture – p 74 - Prediction T asks Ss to read the incomplete conversation themselves and try to predict as many gaps as possible. Step 2. While – Listening ( 18’). - Ask SS listen to the tape 2 or 3 times to check their predictions. - T corrects. Step 3. Post – Listening ( 10’) -Ask SS work in pairs to read the dialogue. - Call some pairs to read. - T corrects. - Role play Ss work in pairs to create a telephone conversation and then perform the conversation in front of the class. IV. Summary( 1’) - T repeats the contents of the speaking. V. Homework (2’). - T guides SS to study at home. - Learn by heart grammars and make examples with them. - Prepare part: read : Read and find new words -Hello, A. How are you? Hello 8470470 Hello. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II.Preparation: 1, Teacher's: text book, teacher’s book, sub-boards, pictures, cues .2, Students': text book, note book, chalks, pens III.Procedures Teacher’s and students’ activities Content ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Organization: Jumbled words : - Write the words with disordered letters on the board . + Fulentipl -> plentiful + taneru -> nature + loofd -> flood + roestdy -> destroy + viroped -> provide + suertl -> result + ciliestial -> facilities - Ask them to write the correct words on the board and repeat chorally , individually => Lead in the new lesson . 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: - Introduce the topic of the passage reading and some new words to Ss . a. Pre - teach vocabulary : * Checking vocabulary : What and where b. Brainstorming : - Ask Ss to think of the difficulties of farmers,life Possible answers : droughts / the weather / hard work / no vacations / lack of clean water / electricity / insects destroy harvests .. - Ask Ss to work in groups to guess how farmers deal with difficulties - Call on some Ss to report their predictions and write them on the board 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to read, speak and listen, understand the tasks b. Content: - answer the questions in the questionaire. c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly d. Organization: - Let Ss listen to the tape and read the text silently to check their predictions . - Answer “ What do many farmers do to solve their problem ? “ => They have to move to the city so that they can get well – paid jobs . - Call on some Ss to read the text in front of class . a. Gap- filling : - Ask Ss to work in pairs to complete summary , using the information from the passage . - Call on some volunteers to report their results - Give feedback - Call on some Ss to read the complete passage aloud b. Finding the words - Ask Ss to read the text again and work with their partners - Call them to report their results - Give feedback 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: students’s talks d. Organization: Discussion - Give a situation : If you were a Minister , what would you do for farmers ? - Ask Ss to work in groups to discuss - Call on 4 volunteers from 4 groups to show their ideas before the class .
