Knowledge + The aims: By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know about learning English through listening .Listening comprehension ( True / False ) -Vocabulary: + National bank (n), international, Improve , + Excellent (a) -The present simple 2. Skills : - Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice listening to the dialogue. B. Preparations 1.Teacher : posters, computer, Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, speaker, projector. 2. Students: UNIT 4 LISTEN C. Methods: - Some techniques can be used: Find someone who, ask and answer. D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? III New lesson : Step 1. Pre Listening : (10’) - Introduce “ We are going to hear a conversation between Nga and Kate about Nga,s studying English . “ - Present some new words : + National bank (n) : Translation + international (a) + Improve (v) + Excellent (a) - Ask Ss to read the statements and predict they are true or false . Step 2. While – Listening : (16’) - Call on some Ss to report their predictions and write them on the board - Turn on the tape (2 or 3 times ) - Ask Ss to exchange and compare with a friend . - Call on some Ss to read the answers .Correct and give the right answers : a) T b) T c) F : She works for an international bank in Ha Noi . d) T e) F : Her listening is terrible . ( This is the biggest problem . People talk very quickly and she can not understand them ) - Get Ss to repeat the correct answers Step 3. Post listening : (10’) - Ask Ss to work in groups by using the questions : 1. What aspects of learning English do you like ? Why / Why not ? 2. Which skills are you good at ? 3. What can you do to improve your listening / speaking / writing / reading ? - Call on some pairs to practice in front of class. IV.Summary (1’): What is the text about? Learning English - EX 8. Knowledge + The aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to get the information about the English classes from the advertisements -Vocabulary: + National bank (n), international, Improve , + Excellent (a) -The present simple 2. Skills : - Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing. 3. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice reading B. Preparations 1.Teacher : posters, computer, Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, speaker, projector. 2. Students: UNIT 4 READ C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: True - False statements prediction, Filling the form, Interview D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 9A 9B Teacher’s Activities Students’ activities II. WARM UP (5 minutes) • Chatting: How do you learn English? Do you warnt to improve your E ? Do you want to join in a Foreign language school? III. NEW LESSON (35minutes) Step 1. Pre Reading : 1. Vocabulary : 1. ( visual ) beginer intermediate advanced ● ● ● 2. ( visual ) 3. ( translation ) 4. ( synonym: teaching, instruction ) 5. ( definition: a school for some special purpose) 6. ( translation) Sts : - listen. - listen and repeat (chorally then individually). - copy. * Checking vocabulary: Rub out and Remember - Get students to copy the words into their books and then ask them to close the books. - Get students to repeat chorally before and after you rub out each words. When all the English words are rubbed out, ask students to call out the English words. - If there’s time, get students to come to the board and write the English words again. 2. True - False statements prediction - Give a poster of 4 statements on the board. - Ask students to keep their books closed and read the statements and guess which is true, which is false. - Set the scene: Mr Lam wants to attend a foreign language course. Guess what he needs for his class. - Give feedback. Step 3. While Reading : 1. Reading and checking prediction - Have students read the note Mr. Lam made and check their prediction. - Ask students to correct if the statements is false. 2.
