Mô tả: Date of preparing: 13/10/2017 Period 22 UNIT 4 : AT SCHOOL LESSON 2 : A3,5 A.Objectives: 1. Aims: - Listen and fill the information about the time and subjects at school. - Ask and answer about the timetable: subjects at school and what time, favorite subjects. 2. Practice skill: -Pracice listening, speaking, reading and writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: - Remember the timetable at school, and write it in English - Ask and answer fluently about the timetable - Listen to the time and the subjects + Advanced knowledge: Make a similar dialogue as A5 with the partners in the class, write it again 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: subjects at school: Physics, Geography, Physical Education, History, English, Math, Music, important, difficult. - Structure: What is Lan doing at 8.40? She is studying Physics What time/ When do you have English? I have it on Monday/ at 8.20 on Monday. What is your favorite subject? I like Math 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice speaking, writing about timetable. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster, cards, cassette. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Word square, Open prediction, Comprehension questions, Speaking. D. Procedure: I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 7 Teacher 's activities SS' activities II. WARM UP (4 minutes) Word square . Stick the poster on the board . Ask ss to find out 12 words dealing with school . Get ss to work in pair to find out the words . Divide the class in to two teams, students from each teams go to the board and circle the words they have found then write them down in the column of their team . NEW LESSON Step 1 : Pre listening (10ms): *Aim: -SS can understand and pronounce the new words T introduce the content of the lesson. Vocabulary : ( realia ) ( translation ) ( definition ) ( translation) Check : R.O R 2 Open prediction * Set the scence This is a schedule on Friday and Saturday of the students in class 7A. Please predict 5 classes Thu has on Wednesday and Thursday: - T gets feedback. Step 2 : While Listening(18ms) : *Aim: -SS can listen and understand the text. Complete the schedule. *Methods: Gap fill, Qs & As Group work, Individual * Time: 18’ * Procedure Activity 1: Checking prediction - T gives feedback. Activity 2: Comprehension questions - T puts some questions on the poster. - run through the questions. - T gives feedback . * Answer key 1. Thu has English classes on Wednesday and Thursday 2. on Wednesday at 8.40; on Thursday at 9.40 3. Thu has Math, Geography, Physical education and Music on Thursday 4.History is Thu’s favourite subjectice. Because it is interesting and important 5.Math is Hoa’s favourite subjectice. Aims: - Read the text and understand about schools in the USA - Talk about some differences between schools in the USA and schools in Viet Nam. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read the text for details and compare an American school with a Vietnamese school. 2. Practice skill: - Further practice speaking, reading and writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Read the text and understand about schools in the USA, correct the false sentences Summarize the main contents of the text through the 6 correct sentences Give out 3 differrences with schools in Viet Nam. + Advanced knowledge: Write a passage about schools in Viet Nam ( 5-10 sentences) 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: school uniform, a 20- minute break, cafeteria ,snacks, popular, baseball, football, to wear, to sell. - Structure: There is / are no... two twenty minute breaks the other the most popular, after class activities 5. Students have lunch at home. There is one 15- minute break in the morning and one in the afternoon. There isn’t usually school cafetarial in Viet Nam. Aims: - Know the books in the school library - Ask and answer about the instructions in the library - Use the prepositions to talk about position of the books in the school library - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to get futher practice in library vocabulary by reading a dialogue 2. Practice skill: - Pracice listening, speaking, reading and writing skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: - Remember the books in the school library and prepositions of position - Ask and answer about the questions from a- g - Tell at least one book in the school library and its position + Advanced knowledge: Describe all the kinds of the books in the school library and their positions 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: this, that, these, those, library, rack, dictionary, reader, novel, reference book, welcome, on the left, on the right, at the back, in the middle of. - Structure: Where are the magazines? They are on the racks in the middle of the room. Where can I find the Math books, please? They are on the shelves on the left. These racks have magazines and those racks have newspapers. 5.
