ENOUGH (đủ … để có thể) *Presentation: Subject + be (+not) + adjective + ENOUGH + to-infinitive -She is old enough to do what she wants. (Cô ta đã đủ lớn để có thể làm những gì cô ta muốn.) -Those apples aren’t ripe enough to eat. (Những quả táo đó chưa chín đến mức có thể ăn được.) Enough cũng có thể được dùng như một từ hạn định (determiner) trước một danh từ đếm được ở số nhiều hoặc một danh từ không đếm được. Subject + verb + ENOUGH + noun(s) + to-infinitive -Are there enough potatoes to make potato soup? (Có đủ khoai tây để nấu canh khoai tây không?) -I didn’t have enough money to buy that car then. (Khi ấy tôi không có đủ tiền để mua chiếc xe hơi đó) *Practice: III. Reflexive pronouns *Presentation: - Definition Đại từ phản thân là đại từ được dùng khi người hoặc vật chịu ảnh hưởng của chính hành động của mình. - Form Đại từ phản thân được thành lập bằng cách thêm tiếp vị ngữ “Self” (số ít) hoặc “Selves” (số nhiều) vào sau một tính từ sở hữu hoặc đại từ tân ngữ. - Uses: Đại từ phản thân được dùng khi: 1/- Chủ ngữ và tân ngữ là cùng một đối tượng Ex: He cut himself with a knife (Tự anh ta cắt mình) He cut him with a knife. (Anh ta cắt người khác) 2/- Nói lên ý chính người đó làm chứ không phải người khác Ex: I repaired the bicycle myself. Sam painted the house himself. Note: “by myself” được dùng với nghĩa một mình. Ex: I do my homework by myself. *Practice: IV.Modal verbs (Các động từ tình thái) *Presentation: MUST, HAVE TO, OUGHT TO A. MUST (phải, cần phải) Affirmative S + must + verb (inf. Without to) Negative S + must not/mustn’t + verb Interrogative : Must + S + verb . . .? - Must được dùng để đưa ra một lời khuyên hoặc một đề nghị được nhấn mạnh Eg.You must take more exercise. Join a tennis club (Anh cần phải tập thể dục nhiều hơn. Hãy tham gia câu lạc bộ quần vợt) - Must được dùng để diễn tả sự bắt buộc đến từ phía người nói, bày tỏ cảm xúc và ước muốn của người nói, ví dụ như ra lệnh (cho mình hoặc cho người khác) Eg.I must stop smoking (Tôi phải bỏ thuốc thôi) B.HAVE TO (phải) Affirmative S + have to + verb (inf. Without to) Negative : S + don’t/doesn’t + have to + verb Interrogative Do/does + S + have to + verb . . .? Have to chủ yếu đựơc dùng để chỉ sự bắt buộc đến từ “bên ngòai” ví dụ luật pháp, nội quy, thỏa thuận và lệnh của người khác. . . . C.OUGHT TO (nên, phải) Affirmative S + ought to + verb (inf. Without to) Negative S + ought not to + verb Interrogative : Ought + S + to + verb . . . ? Ought to được dùng để diễn đạt lời khuyên hoặc lời đề nghị * Practice V. Why – Because: Ask and answer about the reason - T gives an example - Ss translate some sentences into English. - T asks: “Why did Hoa go to school late this morning?” - Ss answer: Because she watched TV late last night - T asks Ss to work in pairs - opened pairs - T corrects the mistakes - Ss write VI. Preposition of time In +Tháng /năm /mùa /thế kỷ .Ex :in 2000, in the summer , in June On + thứ /ngày Ex : on Monday , on May 20 At + giờ . Ex : at 2 o’clock , at night Between ...... and ........ VII. Used to Eg: Last year I rode my bike to school. I used to fly my kite on the field. Step 3: Production: - T asks Ss to work individually to give some examples using the above structures. - Ask Ss do exercise Key Nien is Hoa's next-door neighbor in Hue. She is very beautiful. She has big brown eyes and a lovely smile. Last week, she went to Ha Noi and visited Hoa. They travelled around the city and saw a lot of interesting places. Nien thought Ha Noi was beautiful but also noisy and busy, so she didn't like living there. Practice: - Ss do the exercise with the help of the teacher.
