Answer some questions and recall the text. + Vocabulary: pond, grass, hamburger. + Structure: - The tense: simple present tense, past simple 2. Competence - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: Love family, friends and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II. Aim: Students can memorize some new words b. Content: vocabulary, set the scene, structures c. Outcome: students can read and write the new words d. Organization: Pre- listening: 1. Pre- listening (8 minutes) a. Vocabulary -Elicit from students Translation Translation Translation - Guide ss to read the words *Check vocabulary: Rub out and remember. Guide ss to read the word and rub out one by one Ask ss to go to board and rewrite the words again b. Open prediction (3 minutes) - Set the scene: - Draw 2 pictures of Tim and Carlo Tim Carlo ”Tim Jone’s Mexican penpal, Carlo is visiting the USA” Run through the pictures in the books on page9 and tell the class what there is in each one, where the place is, what the people are doing - Hang a poster on the board and run through it - Give instructions: Tim is taking Carlo to visit some places, think of 3 things that they are going to do . What are you going to do now? -Ask ss to guess - After finishing, ask students to compare with partners - Give feedback: ask students to give the answers. 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Helps students to speak and listen b. Content: - answer the questions in the questionaire. - listen fill the note c. Outcome: ss can do the task correctly d. Yes, she does. - Listen to the tape again and check the correct pictures. - Answer keys: a. 1 b. 2 c. 2 Post- listening: - Give sentences on extra-board, then play the tape again and ask Ss to complete the sentences: 1) Tim asked Carlo to go to a ....... downtown. 2) Tim asked Carlo not to walk ...... 3) Carlo said she didn’t see the ...... 4) Tim wanted to catch the bus number .. 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: make the complete sentences d. Organization: *Recall: -Ask ss to work in groups, using the words given to make the complete sentences - Listen to the tape again and complete the sentences: Answers key: 1) restaurant. 2) On the grass. 3) Sign. 4) 130 - work in groups 1. Each stroke stands for one letter of the word - Students take turn to guess the letter of the word. - If a student's guess is not right, the teacher draw a stroke (according to the order in the picture) - If student guess wrong 8 times, they lose .
