Ss will be able to know about some places Lan went to with a foreign friend and some activities they took part in together. + Vocabulary: Vocabulary of places. + Grammar: - The tense: simple present tense, past simple tense , present perfect and simple future tense. Write activities, interesting places which ss know or are on holiday. 2. Competence: - General capacity:self-learning ability, communication capacity, capacity to use language, cooperation capacity,… - Specilized capacity:English language ability, develop self capacity,.. 3. Quality: -Consciously learn the traditions of the family, homeland. Living in harmony with nature. Love family and country, willing to participate in social activities, live humanty, cooperate with people around,… II.Preparation: 1, Teacher's: text book, teacher’s book, sub-boards, pictures, cues 2, Students': text book, note book, chalks, pens III.Procedures T &S's activities The content of the lesson ACTIVITY 1 (WARM-UP) (5’) a. Aim: Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: Active words and structures c. Outcome: Ss’ understanding, ability of using the words and structures d. Organization: 1. Warm up: * Chatting - Have Ss some questions -Ask Ss to work individually _ Correction 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Prompt students to talk about a place. b. Content: Answer the questions and talk about a place of Viet Nam or a different country c. Outcome: talk about a place of Viet Nam or a different country. d. Organization: 2. Pre writing * Set the scene" imagine you are visiting your relatives or friends in another part of Viet Nam or a different country" - Ask Ss on their own answer the following questions a.Where are you now?How did you get there? - Ask 2 or 3 Ss to tell the class about their visit - Ask Ss to work in pairs to talk to each other about their visit. - Remind Ss about the format of a personal letter by asking question ? What are the parts of a personal letter? 3. ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE (20’) a. Aim: Write a letter to their family b. Content: - answer the questions in the questionaire c. Outcome: a letter to their family, telling them about their visit. d. Organization: 3. While writing: - Ask Ss to work in group of 5 to write a letter to their family, telling them about their visit. - ASk Ss to follow the out line on page 11 to write the letter -SS work in pairs to talk about their visit - Whole class - Give the format of the personal letter 4. ACTIVITY 4: APPLICATION (5’) a. Aim: Stundents apply the knowledge they learnt in practice b. Content: Discussion c. Outcome: students’s talks d. Use the past simple and the past simple with wish well. If only+ clause (past tense/ be: were) 2. Aim: Ss remember the words. Set the scene, lead students to the main part of the period. b. Content: infinitive, simple past c. Outcome: write the finitive into simple past d. Organization: 1.Warm up: Teacher gives some verbs in infinitive and devided the class into 2 groups . T asked 1 Ss / each group to go to the board to write those into simple past. The winner is the S who can write more , exactly in 2 minutes 2. ACTIVITY 2: PRESENTATION (15’) a. Aim: Students use the simple past b. Content: talking about what Ba, Nga, Lan, Nam and Hoa did on the weekend c. Outcome: ask and answer questions about what ba, Nga, Lan, Nam and Hoa did on the weekend d. Organization: 2.Presentation Language focus1 * The past simple LF1)Set the scene: This is the conversation between Tan and Phong. They are talking about what Ba did on the weekend - ASk Ss to read the model and give the form - ASk Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer questions about what ba, Nga, Lan, Nam and Hoa did on the weekend 3.
