Aims: - Understand about TV in Viet Nam thirty years ago and today through reading exercises. 2. Practice skill: - practice the comprehension reading, skill. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Read a text for details about TV in Viet Nam thirty years ago Look at the picture ang retell TV in Viet Nam thirty years ago + Advanced knowledge: Discuss TV in your country. 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary:owner, gather,change,program. Tenses: simple present, past simple tense 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice read for detalis. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks,cards, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: what and where, t/f prediction, shark attack: aD. WARM UP (4 minutes) Shark attack: - 10 letters - 10 letters - 5 letters III. NEW LESSON Step 1 : Pre Reading(13ms): 1. Vocabulary: Checking : What and where 2 . T/ F prediction - Set the scene: "You are going to read a passage entitled "TV in Vietnam". These are some sentences about the passage. Read them and guess which sentences are true, which are false." - Get students to work individually. - Give feedback. Step 2 : While Reading(17ms): 1. Reading and Checking - Ask students to open their books and read the text on page 142. - Let students check their prediction. - Give feedback 2. Answer given - Give some answers and ask students to find out the questions. - Have students work in pairs . - Call on some pairs to ask and answer in front of the class .- Correct the mistakes and ask students to write down . Answer key 1) Did a lot of people have TV sets 30 years a go? 2) What did they watch? 3) What might the older people do? 4) Did anyone go home befor the TV programs finish? 5) Where do people watch TV now? Step 3 : Post Reading(7ms): A3P 142: - Ask students to read the passage again then find the words to complete the summary. - Have students exchange the results with the partners. - Call on some students to give the answers in front of the class. - Correct the mistakes and give the answer key : - Call on some students to read the summary aloud IV. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Listen and understand the dialogue B1 Summary Nga and Ba’s favorite programs + Advanced knowledge: Ask and answer about TV and your favorite programs 4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: kind, cartoon , prefer, Sports show,weather forecast Structure:Like + to do /doing sth 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice speaking,listening skill, listen for details B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, cards, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Jumbled words, Presentation dialogue, Comprehension questions, Word cue drill D. Presentation dialogue - Ask students to look at the picture and answer the question: What’s on TV ? - Introduce the situation of the dialogue , then ask students to guess what kinds of programs Nga/ Ba likes. - Call on some students to give their predictions Have students look at the book and listen to the tape and check their prediction . - Have students work in pairs reading the dialogue . - Call on 3or 4 pairs to read the dialogue in front of the class . - Correct their pronunciation. 3. Comprehension questions - Ask students to read the dialogue again to find out the answers for the questions . - Have students work in pairs . - Call on some pairs to ask and answer in front of the class . - Correct and give the correct answers : . Step 2 : Practice(17ms): 1. Word cue drill - Run through all word cues - T. models => sts repeat - Teacher – Whole class. - Open pairs => Close pairs. Basic language: - Vocabulary: audience,perform,band contest, contestant, import, satellite Tenses: simple present. 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice read for detalis. B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Noughts and Crosses, T or F prediction , Comprehension question, Survey D. Procedure: I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent students 7 Teacher's activities SS' activities II. WARM UP (5 minutes) Noughts and Crosses - Divide the class into 2 teams. - One team is Noughts (0) and the other is crosses(x). - One team starts choosing a number and makes a question and an answer with the given words. If the question and the answer are correct, T puts a mark (O or X ) in that square. - The first team to get 3 in a row (across, down or diagonally) wins the game. EX: What kind of programs do you like? I like to watch Early News. III. NEW LESSON Step 1 : Pre Reading(12ms): 1. Vocabulary : - The person who watches the shows. - Picture - Picture - Picture - = Competitor - foreign series - Picture Check: What and where 2. T or F prediction . 1. Pop music, contests, imports are popular TV programs. 2. Teenagers like to listen to classical music. 3. There are contests of knowledge. 4. The contestants are students, workers, TV viewers. 5. Imports are very expensive Step 2 : While Reading(17ms): Activity 1: Checking prediction Ask students to look at the books , listen to the tape and check their predictions . - Call on some students to give the answers - Have students read the passage aloud Activity 2: Comprehension question - Correct their pronunciation . - Ask students to work in pairs asking and answering the questions in the books . - Call on some pairs to practice in front of the class . - Correct the mistakes and give the correct answers . Activity 3: Complete the passage. Use the words in the box . - Ask students to look at the words in the box and read them aloud . - Explain some new words to students . + To be possible : the same meaning with Can. + Cable TV ( n ) : Truyền hình cáp - Have students complete the passage , using the words in the box . - Ask students to exchange the results with the partners . - Call on some students to give the results in front of the class . - Correct and give the answer key : Step 3 : Post Reading(7ms): Survey - Ask sts to copy the table. - Ask sts to work in groups of 3. - Sts interview each other and fill in the form.
