Grammar: - Present simple to talk about general truths (Review) - Simple past tense (Review) - (Not)adj + enough + to infinitive 5. Unit plan: Unit 1: My friends (5 periods) Period 1 : Getting started- Listen and read Period 2: Speak + Listen Period 3: Read Period 4: Write Period 5: Language focus Date of preparing: 16/8/2019 Period 1 UNIT 1- MY FRIENDS Lesson 1: Getting started + Listen and Read A.The aims of the lesson 1. Knowledges + The aims: Describe the groups of friends and their favorite activities Reading for details a conversation and answer the questions. Tell about student’s friend with the information as: appearance and character. + Vocabulary: seem, a next door neighbor, look like + Grammar: - Present simple to talk about general truths (Review) - Simple past tense (Review) - What do / does + S + look like? - S + is / looks + adj (appearance) - S + be (not) + adj + enough +to inf + O Write activities, interesting places which ss know or are on holiday. 2. Skills : - Practice the comprehension reading skill, listening skill. 3. Attitude: Educating ss to learn hard and to be friendly B. While – Speaking (7’) 1. Word cue drill: - T gives ss some cues. Asks them to make sentences. Example exchange: He is tall and thin. He has long and black hair. 2. Picture drill: - T shows a poster of six people. - T calls a student to describe one of the people, the others have to guess who she / he is . Eg : S1: This person is short and fat.He has bald hair. S2 : Is this Mr. Lai ? S1 : Yes . - T goes on until 6 people on the poster are described. (If there’s time ask ss to describe a famous person or one of their classmates and their friends have to guess). Step 3.Post - speaking :(7’) Ss describe about someone using the adjectives  Listen Step1. Pre - listening: (6’) - T asks Ss to do exercise “listen a, b, c, d” on page 12, 13 - T gives Ss some expressions and make sure the know their meanings * Predictions: Step 2. While - listening: (7’) Sts listen to the tape then complete the dilogues (twice ) - T gives feedback Step 3.
