Aims: By the end of the lesson, SS will be able to listen to the dialogue and complete the missing words. Revision of how to make a phone call. 2. Practice skill: - Practice listening. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Listen to the dialogue and complete the missing words. + Advanced knowledge: Creating a telephone conversation 4.Basic language: + Vocabulary: phone, call, arrive, hold on a moment + Grammar: Present progressive tense (Review) 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to listen the text. - Educate ss to make a phone call B. Teaching- aids: Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster, speaker, computer. C. Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work - Some techniques can be used: Chatting, A&A, D. Procedure : I.Organization: ( 1 minute) - Greeting: Good morning! - Who’s absent today? New lesson Step 1. Pre – Listening (10’). Brainstorming T gives Ss 5 minutes to think of the phrases or sentences they often use when they start making a phone call. - Set the scene: Use the picture – p 74 - Prediction T asks Ss to read the incomplete conversation themselves and try to predict as many gaps as possible. Step 2. While – Listening ( 18’). - Ask SS listen to the tape 2 or 3 times to check their predictions. - T corrects. Step 3. Post – Listening ( 10’) -Ask SS work in pairs to read the dialogue. - Call some pairs to read. - T corrects. - Role play Ss work in pairs to create a telephone conversation and then perform the conversation in front of the class. IV. Summary( 1’) - T repeats the contents of the speaking. V. Aims: - Help ss understand the content of the text, then do 1,2 exercises on page 75. - By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to understand the text about one of the social problems. 2. Practice skill: - Practice speaking, reading, listening. 3. The knowledge needs to get: + Standard knowledge: Read and complete the sentences (exercise 1) and answer the questions (exercise 2) + Advanced knowledge: Retell the summary about problem in the city. 4.Basic language: - rural (adj ),- urban,- strain,- typhoon,- drought, - struggle, - migrant,- increase 5. Attitude: - Help ss to have good consciousness in order to read the text. - Educate ss to learn hard and understand the problem in the city. B.
